MGS 5 WAS ANNOUCED!!!

Great news. I love the series, but I'm not very happy with MGR, so I hope they continue the Solid series along with the Rising.

I never played a MGS past 4, 4 was the last I played, and from what I saw, it doesn't make sense to continue the story...

Solid should have died multiple times already. When he encountered Big Boss, Shadow Moses, and the tanker flood just to name a few. He should just stay dead.

I think the new MGS5 shouldn't have Solid Snake as a playable character. Raiden is also out of question since he is in Revengeance.
I Guess it'll be either Big Boss, Snake before Shadow Moses or a new character.
I agree that we should have seen Snake's death in MGS4, now I hope we see that in MGS5.

Like Magnolia i am too very excited for Revengance, it looks amazing! I beat MGS 1 and some of MGS 3 so in terms of story it wouldn't bother me who i play as, so i can gladly say more Snake! If it's coming to Xbox goodie and If not then Metal Gear simply isn't ment to be.

if they continued with snake, it would either be ultra old snake in a wheelchair. or some sort of clone, since that's not exactly out of the question is it?
or even a point between mgs2 and 4...possibilities galore.

No way i thought MGS 4 was the last one for the Solid series

It's another Big Boss prequel game.

I hope Solid Snake has at least a little cameo. Maybe the game can be about Big Boss taking command of FOXHOUND, and Snake can be a major (non-playable) character like he was in MGS2.
Seeing them as buddies could help calm the "hurr durr solid snake vs big boss" flame wars.

Also, Revengeance looks terrible but I'll still buy it because it looks awesome!

and MGS 4 was amazing
I liked it, but...
Solid should have died multiple times already. When he encountered Big Boss, Shadow Moses, and the tanker flood just to name a few. He should just stay dead.
Why "should" he have died those times? He's well trained, a powerhouse of willpower, and all around awesome.
He SHOULD have capped his skull at the end of MGS4, but noooooo that would have made sense. Instead, Kojima wanted him to have some father and son time with his crispy (literally) ol' dad.

Forgive me for the double post.

"Ground Zero."
Get it? ZERO. ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I'm crossing my fingers for gameplay at TGS.

There's also a movie in the works, produced by Avi Arad, and it will probably suck.

On a side note, the Vita version of the HD Collection sucks. The part of the "Killers" music from Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is missing, Guy Savage is still missing (just like in the regular HD Collection), wall-hugging controls are whack (but it makes up for it by making CQC workable), and MGS2 looks like **** (and runs at 30FPS.) I thought the Vita was supposed to be almost as powerful as a PS3? Surely it could run a 10 year old PS2 game at max speed (and have all the freakin' sound data from a 20 year old MSX game)!

Snake in a wheelchair? I can see all the action from that now :p
INCOMING CALL
Otacon: Snake I got some bad news
Snake: What?
Ottacon: Theres some stairs up ahead with no ramp!
Snake: Son of a *****

Yea plus it would make it a lot harder for Snake to hide in a box :D

The graphics do look amazing on that video but that was the pc version. I wonder if the console versions will look as good? Doesn't matter much tho cause the open world gameplay is gonna be awesome.

I'm still wondering how the open-world will work. Like, I don't want it to be like Red Dead Redemption where the map is huge but there's nothing in it besides a few towns. Quality over quantity. Shadow Moses is pretty small but every part of it is instantly recognizable.
One theory I've heard is that there isn't actually one big open world, just very, very, very large areas for missions (hence the helicopter transporting you to other "missions or countries"), kind of like Deus Ex (but on a grander scale.)

Yea it sounds like the kinda open world you would have in a Final Fantasy game. Using the heli to get to different locations etc. And they said in the video you could approach that area whatever way you want, there is no set path.

It's a sequel to Peacewalker. Maybe alongside it. I'm not ready for this kind of win.

Snake is not dead, the japanese games are old fashion....every game of japan has a lot of characters but never of them die....they just keep appearing in each new title....the japanese makers are brats, they like the heroistic stories.
