I know he's a Ganado, but what's up with his accent, is it spanish or Austrailian?
I've also seen weapon blueprints in one of his island stalls, does this mean he makes his own weapons?
Is he infected with some sort of control plagas (alternating eye colors)?

That's all for now..

Yeah, considering he is the only one who doesn't try to kill you. How come Saddler, Mendez, or Salazar never said anything about him, since he helps you throughout the whole game?

Lol... the merchant is a surreal character, he moves really fast, doesn't show symptoms oof the Plagas (i believe he is infected). Also, Where does the merchant get all his weapons?? The merchant is just a way of buying guns, he shouldn't be considered for the storyline.

He sounds like a 50 year old australian man whos smoked since he was 10 lol. When you go towards the end of the game i think his eyes are red if you look close enough with the rifle scope.Hes just a really smart ganado lol he makes heaps off money of the american and stinges all his mates.

wow! u peeps sure hav lots of free time to even tink abt sumtin like dat.. lol.. The merchant isnt infected at all.. he recivd special training frm Solid Snake, sent by da australian intelligence.. so, da merchant's goal is to destroy da plagas n evrytin related to them in order to avenge his bro's death..
lol, i made dat up! =p

it makes you wonder how he fits into the story, since he's clearly not from around them parts.

He's the loveable c ockney geezer who wanted a nice holiday in Benidorm. But when he got there he found that it was infested with mind-controlled crazy zombie-types! Now he's got to pull out all the stops and, with a little help from his friends, escape this craaAAAAAAAAaaAAaaaaazy village! The Merchant is: The Merchant! Rated PG-13.

That's his backstory, lol

(And yes, I've clearly been watching too much South Park lol)

so far that sounds most believable, so i guess we'll stick to that from now on.

I think he is infected with some sort of plaga but it doesn't affect him as much as the other Ganados.
Correct. :) He is infected with plaga but somehow he is immune to Saddler's master plaga. I don't think it is known why the plaga failed to take control over him.

The accent is actually C ockney. It's an accent from England, in particular east-end London. Like Dick Van Dyke did in Mary Poppins.

(The forum thinks I'm being rude, so I had to space the letters out.)
The stupid filter prevents you from linking to that article because it filters url's too.

And I didn't know the merchant speaks сoсkney. I always thought сoсkney was a very special accent hard to understand. But the merchant is easy to understand. :)

Hey peeps!
What if i kill the merchant?
Will he appear again later on?

I don't remember exactly how it goes....but If I recall correctly, in Normal mode, if you kill him he doesn't come back to that same place again for the rest of the game.

In professional he doesn't come back at all, period.

He will not appear at any place?
I have been thinking that each merchant is different because I don't think he can teleport. If killing one merchant on pro mode makes every merchant disappear, then perhaps all the merchants are one and the same man?

I didn't know that i thought he would just appear everytime.I never killed him unless i was gonna turn the game off, it looks cool shooting him in the heart with one bullet and watching him drop lol.

I thought that if you killed the merchant, then he would reappear in the next spot. Maybe he's one of the rats that Salazar was talking about. Instead of Luis, it would be Merchant. Weren't the Ganados and Saddler the only ones mentioned to be hunting him?
