I think he's talking about Mega Man.
I never played much of it to be honest. Wouldn't totally call it dead though. He was featured in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom last year with Zero and Tronn Bonn making an appearance in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. If he's still dead with that in mind, he's definitely not forgotten. Anyway, I think that of any popular 2D games, Mega Man had the grimmest future in 3D gaming. The series just wasn't built for it if you ask me.
