Legalization of Same Sex Marriage

Its stupid how the straight white guys in our government dont wanna give gays rights, yet when their taxes get raised or basically anything that effects their lifes they bitch and cry rape lol. no matter how tiny or insignificant the issue may be. were all humans and we all deserve to be treated equal and live our lives freely.

i had an uncle who was gay. my grandmother was fine with it and supported him all the way. my grandfather would call him queer and the like to his face, he said he was ashamed of him and they quit talking. my uncle was a nurse at the time he finally came out. after his fathers rejection he turned to writing his own scripts for valium and oxycontin. he started shooting him self and he ended up an addict, a trait that unfortunately runs rampant through my family. he overdosed one day on tramadol and had a seizure. he lived alone and no one found him for almost a week. if my grandfather hadnt been such a hate mongering asshole my uncle might still be kickin it today.

maybe one day soon we as people can come together and end the ignorance. at least i can only hope. marriage rights wouldnt just be a win for gays but a win for humanity in general.

Can i ask why you needed to bring in skin colour.

As we're on the subject of colour..I've noticed a Anti White vibe in the youth of today, ESPECIALLY the '' activists '' movement.. It strikes me as odd, because most of the self pity actually comes from white youngsters..... i struggle to think of the last time i Saw a Leopard bemoan his spots, a Tiger his stripes or Lion his Mane.

You'd think White man was the cause of all evil on this planet when you listen to some people at times... Although, it's my opinion such views usually spawn from people who do not have passports. Because if they did........well....

It seems that racism is a one way street, where white people can only be the racist and are never ever the victims of racism which is rubbish, unfortunately though the political correctness idiots (who incidentally are mainly white) seem to have this opinion and are the assholes responsible for most of the problems.

Going back to the main topic, it's 2012, if people have a problem with homosexuality, tough ****, I have a problem with bankers getting paid millions of pounds in bonuses while they made then sat back when the countries finances went down the toilet, but I don''t go protesting outside my local banks like these self righteous morons.

Of course, when one looks at Israel, the hypocrisy is jaw dropping.

Good post!

Well you could classify that as social stratification. The higher inequality in a society, the higher level of violence, social problems and overall 'dysfunction'. Things like skin colour are just a primitive way for people to identify with a particular situation. No one is bad on either end, people don't know any better. Bring up a greek guy in china, he will speak, sound and adopt chinese culture's and values.Grow me up in Nazi Germany, i would become a nazi.

Well i'd say you are pretty spot on, that is just general social stratification. The higher inequality in a society, the higher level of violence, social problems and overall 'dysfunction'. Maybe true of some, but not all.

But i see your point. Modern man is an empty vessel from birth, such is the dysfunction in our societies, that by the time he comes to reason, he spends his prime playing to the trends and wanting acceptance.

Such a waste.

It depends on what hypocrisy yo are talking about, the hypocrisy of the United States blindly backing the Israeli government in what it does, or the hypocrisy of Arabs/Muslims in blaming it all on Israel and not accepting that on occasion they are the ones that are the victims (no talking sides here just pointing out that neither side are innocent, and each side only reports their own views without being objective).

Well i do believe everything is conditioned. If conditions are against the core developmental needs for a healthy human being then you will get problems.Saw the news today, zuckerboy selling facebook for $100 billion dollars. What kind of ****ing news story is that? 1/3 of that money would solve hunger, easily. All of it could probably change a few countries energy infrastructures to lifetimes of strong clean free renewable energy sources, much more efficient then fossil fuels.Don't mean to rant but it ****ed me off a little.

When people mention the sanctity of marriage then why do so many people have fights and get divorced? I don't know how true the statement is but i got told 50% of people get divorced. Nothing about Marriage is sacred, its only as the person makes it. So if a gay person wants to get married, let them, maybe they will do better then the straight people and straight people won't bother getting married anymore.. then in 50 years marriage will be the new gay.. you never know lol

Did, you know, Marriage isn't in Heaven, despite the popular saying a '' marriage made in heaven '' From that point of view, as a Christian, i've never understood the need for it.

However, a quick gander through the history books will expose the true birth place of marriage.

Israel's laws on Marriage will interest you.

No, i wasn't sure if it was a metaphor or actuality. What do you mean by you never understood the need for it?

I could have a brief look.I don't know the core traditions, all i know is that it has changed overtime so i don't see the problem in it changing again.

sorry im not trying to bring race into this, its just a simple fact that white men out number black men in politics. when i think of the government i think of some white, grey haired, 60 year old christian male sitting around laughing at all the bull**** laws hes putting into place haha.

That tends to happen in a country that has more white people than blacks, so what exactly is your point ?

How old are you ?

but there really arent too many more white people compared to others anymore. were starting to kinda equal out as a population when it comes to race. or at least where i live in the south its happening fast. there isnt hardly anyone who is strictly white, black, hispanic, etc..

im 20 btw. once again, im not trying to start an argument. if i offended you sorry bro.

You haven't offended me in the slightest.

I'm just wondering if you knew that Western Government was based largely on Christian ideals. As was Health care, Education and the justice system... these ideals were picked up by Western countries that back then were almost white...But what being 60, white and Christian has to do with anything is beyond me.

The prevention of a bill that leagalizes same sex marriage has more to do with those who apose to being dickheads than it is, to do with their skin colour, age, or religion.

Which brings me back to my original point. In our youth today, there is an underlieing self hatred which is the same one that has seen the increase of teen suicides. This idea that everything is the wests fault, especially white Christians...its a view, held by in large by three types of people in my experience.. People still living with mum and dad, people still with their heads in texts books or people without a passport.

Take this from a guy who's travelled, and i admit this may seem strange...but we, ( the west ) are AWESOME! we get some things wrong, we others right... but by in large, the west has done much for this world, which is why we have many people from many backgrounds sharing our land for better or worse. We're open for trade, have been for hundreds of years, and frankly, the countries from which our friends come from, aren't all that upto date on human rights, hygiene, education and what not.. alot of which is out of their control, due to tyrants...but let us not have us self pity just because we're having trouble with some paper work.

When i left Scotland, i thought there would be a paradise somewhere waiting for me, but having seen some pretty disgusting excuses for governments around the world, i came to realize there really is no place, like home.

The very fact such a thread is open to the masses in such a forum, shows we're on the right track, so lets not have any of this nit picking.

These things take time and care... not skin colour or religions..

Don't worry, you haven't offended me.

youre completely right dude. i think its sad though that we still rely on religion to govern our selfs. sure it helped our founders govern themselves, but that was a different time and humanity wasnt as mature. and thats only been what, 300 years or so? that just shows how much progress weve made as a society. but part of growing is learning to decide whats right on your own, not just because a book says it is or not. the bible, while a good TOOL to live by, if full of hypocrisy too.

its pretty hard not to think of the government like i said above when thats all you see when you turn on the tv: some old ass white guy making harsh laws and rash decisions lol. glad we can see eye to eye bro :)

Such insight on this forum...And everybody being SO polite about it...Thanks guys...It's times like this that prove we can have great natural conversation that others would consider controversial...VP is right...We're the coolest cats on the web...

When I was growing up, at about 7, they started teaching us about all these different things that none of us had ever known about before. One of which was homosexuality, and I remember a very sly rant from my teacher at the time (I have an incredible LTM, very poor STM) condemning same sex marriage.
For me, it's not an issue that should be talked about too fiercely or too loudly - because if we talk about the differences of people, that will lead to a stigma being created about what is wrong with those that are different.
Take for instance religion. The reason we have religious fanatics is because from a very young age, they were taught how one religion condones murder and another encourages segregation. These people were taught about the negative differences of others.
It sounds very 'ideal world', but if we didn't bring up the differences of things compared to another thing to our children, then we wouldn't have to worry about issues like same sex marriage, because we would be allowing our kids to make up their own mind about an issue, be it religion, sexuality or best ice cream topping.
Sadly, life isn't like that and so I'm mixed about the topic. I hate seeing straight couples stick their tongues down each others throat because a) thank you for reminding me of my bad luck (even though being single is pretty fun) and b) it's pretty uncomfortable. Weddings too. If we didn't make them so high profile then people would be reserved about it, not "OMG we're getting married at that church!" Yeah, you and about 500 people this year, love.
I'm not fussed if a mate of mine is homosexual. I wouldn't care if a close friend of mine turned out to be a lesbian. Same sex marriage - I'm pro it, and then again I'm against it, like I'm pro straight weddings and anti straight weddings.
