Is this really a bad thing?

It's not bad...Idiocy is a disease...And the cure is to expose the idiots to themselves..By laughing out loud at them or making a sarcastic quip, perhaps you can show them their own idiocy..

I deal with a whole lot of stupidity at work from guests, and because we're not exactly allowed to laugh in their faces, I usually just smile awkwardly. I'm usually one of those guest service reps who is always insanely (almost creepishly) bubbly and smiley even when you're yelling at me.

And then I waltz into the back office and talk about how much of an idiot you were behind your back.

This is just like me, only I'm liable to tell you about yourself right to your face. I have no shame in doing so and I will not hold back....and continue to be smiley and bubbily while doing so :)

Edited - Apology made.
Right.

This is not directed to you in particular, although it certainly applies in this particular situation; everyone, please mindful of what you say and how you say it. When you respond impulsively to another member, you're often allowing your emotions and your temper to cloud your better judgment and this is when rules get broken. We don't tolerate insulting comments here and we're not about to start now. I'm not going to dish out formal infractions for it, but the next time I might not be in such a pleasant mood.

It's entirely possible this thread was not about anyone in particular. Like I said, just mind your words. The apology is appreciated however. Any continuation of this discussion is best had on our profiles or through private messages. Thanks,
I just wanted to say this to clear the air in here. It kinda smells. *sprays Lysol*

I didn't make this thread about you, Silverback. You made a joke, I told you I didn't like it, we laughed and everything was fun and happy. :) I made this thread because of something that happened on another forum. I think some of the people on said forum are ridiculous, so I made a thread here that I thought would be entertaining for people to post in while I blow off steam. That's all this was. I can even send you the link of said thread. I posted in it shortly before making this one.

Next time, please send me a message if you think I said something about you you didn't like. I'd be more than happy to talk to you about it.

I hope that clears it up. Send me a message if you want to talk about it more. :)

It depends on the person. If they're stupid and rational, I try to enlighten them, you could say. I dont generally have any hard feelings. Some people just don't get stuff. If they're stupid and irrational, with grandiose delusions about how brilliant they are in spite of clearly being stupid, then I just nod and be quiet. I hate the redundancy of constantly explaining myself (which is usually the least of what happens when I try to speak to a certain insane individual in my life), so I let them wallow in their egotistical monologue and laugh about them later, whilst perhaps writing them into a story as the village idiot or something lol.

Ah. I guess all workplaces are different with respect to how customers are handled. If I want to keep my job at the end of the day, telling a guest they're a moron is kinda out of the question.

I guess you could say working in a nursing home in the past disables you from calling your patients idiots. Although they sure can call you anything under the sun since they have dementia.

I never want to work in a nursing home again, I began to understand why some people strangle old folks to death... And if anyone knows me here you'd know I'm not a mean hearted person! lol You really have to look out for some of those patients, they'll choke the hell out of you with their old lady death grip. Or... If it's an old man, for the love of GOD, knock before you enter. They really love relieving themselves... If you know what I mean. I even would have one old man press the emergency button so he could get some "help". The things I've seen oh lawd!... And the things I wish I could have said back. If I weren't working I'd not be so nice to the ones who weren't mentally ill.

That's not bad at all! In fact, when I'm in a heated argument with an idiot I begin to laugh, because it just makes them angrier... Which makes me laugh even harder. Have you noticed that when arguing/debating with an idiot they get louder and louder? I also love to add "He who screams loudest does not win an argument. ;)". Ah, I'm surprised I haven't been punched in the face yet.

Sometimes though... If someone is being beyond rude I become a monster and destroy them in every way possible. Especially if it's on FB. I even call my mother in to help me out, because quite frankly there's no need to be mean/rude to someone, especially if they don't deserve it... And boy if you mess with me AND my mama finds out, prepare to be ruined. :p
AHHHHH I'M SO ANGRY:p
My momma beat yo momma up, true gangsta style.

I try not to laugh at people i think are stewwpid because i know i'm not the smartest person in the world and we all have questions....however rudeness i dont tolerate. Theres no reason not to respect those around you even if you're having a ****ty day. Its not fair to anyone else. But then again all we have are screenshots of peoples lives (unless we know them personally) and at any given moment in time we've all slipped up and gone bat **** crazy. It just depends on whos watching.
