If you could only have one game this year...

I'm not quite sure what you mean by no decent games aside from ZombieU. Rayman and Assassin's Creed. On top of that, we have games to look forward to, like Smash Brothers and Mario. Hell, I'm sure there will be a few Nintendo Exclusives in the RE department because there ALWAYS are. As far as the controller goes, I just don't see that as a problem. Then again, I won't lie, I don't sit and game for hours. I game for a couple of hours. Three tops. I'm ADHD, and video games don't hold my attention, which is why I'm so happy when a game actually CAN. Graphics aren't going to hold my attention, nor is how smooth the game runs. All that will hold my attention are compelling characters and a great story. The latter is an area in which modern games are lacking SEVERELY. Take Street Fighter for example. It looks like just another fighting game, but it's got a hellaciously complex back story. And it's a far darker game than most realize. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. The point is, While the graphics, frame rate, and over all ease of a system may be less than desirable, TERRIBLE games is a far worse crime for systems that HAVE those capabilities. And to add to this, who needs the latest and greatest thing to make it good. I couldn't care less really if it has barley ANY advancements since the systems released 7 years ago. People are so stuck on the latest and greatest thing, that when something truly good appears, if it's not bright and shiny they won't give it a second thought. Look at it like the movie Terminator 2. The XBox 2360 may be a T1000, however, the T800 (WiiU) won out in the end.

i see your points about graphics, but the power of a system not only affects them, but also the gameplay and overall size and quality of the game. The Wii U doesnt rivalve current tech and its supposed to be the start of next gen. The technology hasnt changed much in the 5 years ive been playing xbox, and it wasnt that greater leap from ps2/xbox really.. So im kind of ready for the next major improvement. I want to see games as large and explorable as say skyrim/fallout, but with the details and action quality of gears of war/resident evil 6. thats not possible on current gen, mass effect is a game that tries but its underwhelming overall, jack of all trades but master of none. And thats kinda my point, i want to be impressed and blown away but the wii u, well it doesnt come close. anyway to get back onto topic of what games everyone is hyped for....well im eargerly awaiting Gears judgment now comes out in 2 or 3 weeks. The new domination mode (not a rip off of Cod, unreal did it first) should improve my favourite game mode (king of the hill) and be more challenging, theres some great new weapons and new systems in place and its shaping up to be the best Gears yet. I think Gears is THE best online versus shooting game available on any system. the level of team work and skill required is far greater than Cod ( a twitch reaction shooter.) . Gears is more of a tactical/ team shooter, where as cod /battlefield i feel are Twitch/reaction shooters.
