I went out and bought both RE4 and RE5 today and this may be a silly question but i was wondering which one you guys thought i should play first

play 4 first. if you don't, then 5 will be less meaningful

I think it's best to play them in chronological order... so go through RE 4 first. Plus Leon is in it.

RE4 first, I think the controls in 5 is a bit improved for general shooting anyways. After playing 5 for months one end I went back to 4 and had to get reacquainted to the analog sticks and knife attacks. Plus 4 is a bit more horror than 5.
