RE5 works as an ending. Umbrella, Spencer, Wesker, origin of the viruses were all dealt with.

Alex Wesker.
The final document in chapter 6-3 has a document from 1998 signed by Alex Wesker. We know that one of Albert's quests was to find out who and what he really is after he was told about Project W. from Spencer. It's likely that he found that report and isn't actually aware that Alex is a Wesker, but knows her by Alex.
Also Lost in Nightmares also digs into her character.
