GIF's as an avatar?

Hey does anyone know if its possible to use a gif as your avatar?A gif is one of those picture movie things.

I've tried but it only works as a signature.

i think they won't allow that becouse the forum can't handle it maby thats becouse the forum will be getting stuck
at least thats what i think couse i hreraed that on another forum

but sig AV.s can work as you see on some of the profiles

You can use GIF files as an avatar, but it appears that a number - or most, rather - of the animated ones are too large. The system currently only allows images that are under 19.5 KB which is equal to a bit less than 20,000 bytes. That image you posted has over 580,000 bytes.

So, yes, you can, but the file has to be much smaller.
