If Capcom is pandering to its Japanese audiences, they're certainly not doing a very good job of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm by no stretch of imagination much of a gamer anymore so I can't speak to the other games it produces, but I understand a great deal of its revenue is generated through the RE series. Does Resident Evil even have a single Japanese character? There might have been one in the Outbreak games, but apart from that I can't recall anyone (and Ada Wong is Chinese, incase anyone brings it up). If Capcom wasn't interested in its European/North American markets, it would be incredibly unusual to populate one of their largest franchises with almost exclusively Caucasian characters.

Jill is part Japanese and Rebecca is based off of a Japanese person, does that count? xD

The only time CAPCOM cares about RE fans' opinions is when sales speaks for them. The way RE4, RE5 and RE6 took, turning from survival horror to shooter is not working. RE wasn't meant to be shooter/action/CoD thing.

Assuming they're convinced not to repeat the same mistake, and after seeing how high their sales of RE1 HD. One would assume RE7 could get back to its roots, the survival horror that is meant to be. It supposed to be for RE4, 5 and 6 instead of shooter.

Granted, RE4 was a nice diversion since Survival Horror was stagnating at the time, but I don't think RE should have went so far in that direction.

Okay... From what you posted originally, what I got from it was that you think that because Capcom is a Japanese company, with mostly Japanese employees, these employees will only cater to the Japanese audience because they make the games as they themselves (and as a result, the Japanese audience) would enjoy. They're making what they think is a good game.

Customers from outside Japan still buy the game because it's Resident Evil, and are disappointed in the quality because Capcom haven't catered to their personal tastes. Therefore, Capcom still make the sales, but the customers outside Japan aren't happy with the product.

So you're asking whether or not Capcom care about the consumers outside of Japan and their requirements of the game, or if they're just going to make whatever they want because they will still make the sales.

Is that right?
yes.exactly.
