Dino Crisis

wesker_awesome

After a meal there's nothing like a good cigar.
Ever played 1 or 2? Not 3, that game sucked.
And does Dino Crisis remind you of Terra Nova? Or I should say does Terra Nova remind you of Dino Crisis, because it came first.

Yea I loved the original Dino Crisis. It'd be awesome if they made a remake like they did with REmake lol.

Dino Crisis was fun.

I remember my mates saying '' oh it's just Resident evil with dinosuars ''

and i was like

'' oh well that makes it alright then ''

replace zombies with raptors and everything is ok is it ? pfff.. lol

I was into Dino Crisis way before I was into Resident Evil. It's a bit dated now, but the first two games were amazing and I've been waiting too long for a remake. Unfortunately I don't know if Capcom will touch the series again...

They probably won't since the last time they did it ended so badly. I do miss Regina and the gang, though.

*sigh*

I don't see why companies do that, they have one fail and they never touch a series again. I mean Resident Evil 4 was met with mixed feelings from fans but Capcom didn't shut the Resident Evil franchise down; just because an opinion is the majority doesn't make it right and it definitely doesn't mean you give up either. Improve, go back to tactics and designs that work but don't give up, that's just stupid.

I'm not sure RE 4 is a good example to use here. While I certainly understand your complaints about RE 4 and its role in the series, I think to call it a failure reflects a bit too much personal bias. It was a huge commercial and critical success, it was particularly enjoyed by people who were new to the series, and I certainly don't think Capcom viewed it as a failure in the least - which is why they didn't shut Resident Evil down. Dino Crisis 3 is another story. Yes, it certainly was unfaithful to the series, but it also didn't even have the 'eh, it's a good game anyway' thing going for it. It was a bit of a mess and was disliked by DC fans and gamers in general and the fact it completely bombed commercially imo is the reason DC was never touched again. :)

I'm saying that my opinion that Resident Evil 4 was a failure didn't shut down the Resident Evil franchise so, even though it was an opinion of the majority, Dino Crisis shouldn't have ended as a whole because 3 failed in the eyes of most. An opinion is an opinion and, contrary to our opinion, while they are few and far between, some people actually liked DC3 - and let's not forget how well the first two games did. For me DC3 should have been a lesson learned; you found out that the direction you were trying to go in didn't work so backtrack and go back the way you came and start from there. At least that way we'd still have Dino Crisis.

One good game doesn't build a franchise so why should one bad one end it?

I agree, I would say RE: Survivor is a better example of a failure.

I have not played or heard of either of these games.
Is it like Turok?

I wonder how many people here remember Turok...
I forgot they rebooted it. I'll bet most people remember Turok, even if it's only the reboot.

I don't disagree with you hun.. I just felt RE 4 was a poor example, that's all. At the end of the day, Capcom's going to make whichever game they feel will net them the greatest profit. They must have reasons to believe that a fourth DC game isn't going to perform well on the market right now, else they'd probably make it. I'm guessing that has more to do with the fact that dinosaurs aren't as marketable as they were in the 90s. Personally, I don't see why a remake of the first game in the style of RE's remake wouldn't work, but I'm not a market researcher so who knows. Hell, I'd even be happy if they just threw Regina into an RE game or something. :D

Pssh, no one liked that game other than like... the aunts and uncles of the people who made it.

Wow, deja vu. I might have pulled that one before. :/

I'd be sooooo happy. But I want the real thing. You wouldn't get Jill walking up to a corpse and nonchalantly and almost enthusiastically say 'that's disgusting'. That just wouldn't happen, that's why Regina's the best. :D

Let's not forget that, instead of just going throughout the mission like nothing's unusual, Regina and her mates continue to ask after each other during their crazy mission - that none of them can believe. Jill and Barry travel through the mansion and, after a while, it's like they've been dealing with zombies their whole lives and they seemingly forget about their missing teammates while Rick, Gail and Regina are constantly going: "OMFG DID YOU SEE THAT!?" and "Have you seen so-and-so? I wonder if they're alright?" There just seems to be a little more human realism in DC. (Or maybe that's just me...)

Good game, after they made that though I thought that Capcom would keep making games in the RE style and keep ripping off RE. One series was enough.. Dino Crisis was pretty cool.

I don't remember which DC i played, it was 2 i think. But it really enjoyed it to be honest, it did smell of resident evil... But that probably why i liked it so much, if i remember rightly ammo wasn't as scarce as it is on RE2 for example.

Ahh, another Dino Crisis thread.. It was about time! xD

I believe Turok is an FPS? Or at least it had a first person view. Dino Crisis has the same camera angles as the original REs. It feels a lot like RE actually.
