Computer problems/viruses

Well probably not the best place in the world to be asking but i know some of you are fairly tech savy so i guess if any problems arise computer wise this is the spot.

But yeah recently the computer has been screwing up hardcore.First off i can't open up my task manager anymore(ctrl+alt+delete)and i can't open the computer registry(which is really important apparently) because it says I've been blocked off by the administrator.I find out its something to do with a virus called W.32 sality or something but with everything blocked off i can't fix it.

The way to fix it is with computer in safe mode but the computer won't let me go into it anymore. Then when i thought it couldn't get worse all my computer memory just ****ing vanished! There was around like 40gb left and now it says the hard disk has nothing left,it just rapidly chewed away without warning.Programs are being blocked off,i used something called superantispyware which killed alot of things but everythings still exactly the same. Some websites are fully ****ed like youtube is just screwed now,all the words are in like grids and the video pane stretchs across the whole page! Its definately a virus, when i start the computer everything seems fine then it starts to pop up with low memory errors and it just gets lower and lower.

I was thinking of rebooting the whole computer and starting off but i'm not sure if this will repair the memory and kill all viruses because if it doesn't the computer will become literally worthless the least i can do is keep the music i've got on the computer. But i can't find info on rebooting all the information i find contradicts each other. So if anyone knows anything about what rebooting will do or what the hell this memory death is i would highly appreciate it!

That sounds bad, sorry to hear.
Try turning off your computer, go into system recovery and restore your computer to an earlier point.

Kelly the W32 worm disables that, most W32`s do.

Well even if you restore somehow hoady the hardrive is not going to be the same, most room back but some not. The thing it does is duplicates itself over and over until the hardrive is full, doesnt chew away.
Reformat the computer or it formats you... permanently.

press F8 when starting up. then follow instruction from there. the reformatting could take time but its the only way... your music is infected with the worm sadly... if you want to keep it your going to have to put it through massive virus disinfection.

Well, whatever you decide to do, try to get to a library or something with connection to the internet, and make sure all of your online accounts are okay. A quick google tells that it also logs your keystrokes, so check if all of your sensitive information is safe.

Hoady, I'm afraid they are right. Sorry. If you have the win32.sality virus, you have very small chances of removing it. It's almost impossible to remove without damaging your system.

And it is 'reformatting', not 'rebooting' you are talking about. ;)

EDIT: ^ Added.

Good point Kelly! It can log keystrokes and pass the info through a firewall. This nasty thing is clever.

UGH! We had this virus on our desktop computer. What a pain in the butt! We managed to get it off but the computer was never the same again. We still have the PC just to get the rescued files off, but otherwise it just takes up space because it was so damaged. I hope you have better luck. :)

Wow i wasn't expecting so many replies thanks guys.I'm gonna try both your links aintnoscrub and Romero and if they don't work...format the computer.Wasn't expecting the music to be infected thats honestly the only thing thats stopping me from formating the computer its just far to important to me i don't want to lose it all again.

Well thanks i'll post back later.
