Does any body have any idea where barry is or if you think he'll be in another game? Or did I miss something somewhere like him being dead already...

Wasn't he in Resident Evil: Gaiden...? Was that even canon to the series?

you can consider RE: Gaiden as the side story of the main story in RE universe.. means it happened in other universe or you can just simply ignore it..
