I bought the Sims 3 today... installed it on my MacBook Pro... when I go to run the game, it shows up in the dock but it won't launch. It flashes a blue screen with the Sims logo, but then everything disappears. I contacted EA games, and they were like, make sure your Mac has all the software updates. So, I did and it keeps telling me I need to restart my computer and then it will install the updates, but when it restart my computer it doesn't install anything!

I hate technology. Can anyone help?

I got excited but then I saw that it was a Mac and I was like "damn can't help."
So, damn. Can't really help.

Useless tech troubleshooting question:
Have you tried reinstalling it?

i know it sounds obvious but have you tried a fresh install? incase something went wrong in the first install.
if it was PC i could give you all the help you need with any problem.

Femme you got Mac? :o I'm impressed, I didn't know you're that advanced. Sorry I can't help, I use Microsh!t.
Btw, Veronica Mars uses Mac. ;)

Yea I'm on pc too... Have used a mac before but it was just totally confusing to me lol.

Anyway had a look around the net and it seems a lot of people have problems with getting Sims 3 to install & run on mac. But I did come across a forum were some people apparently got it to work. Might be something helpful on there.

I have a mac and have run into this problem many times. Install "bootcamp" for mac and follow the instructions from there. You can play PC games for the mac with bootcamp. Just be careful which website you get it from. ;)

Turns out it was an issue with the OS... I couldn't install the game because the updates weren't installing because the disk was broken or something like that. Had to re-install the OS, then it worked. Weird.
