As for question 1 it was 23 people, and jake muller told Chris and pires that he will not be a problem for the BSAA unless he is paid to be, and that they're jarheads. As the basis for a controlled bio weapon. G is much more potent but there's alot less control.
The virus spreads through infection where as the gun virus must be spread biologically / parisitically. The host will reject the spicimen rather than fully adapt it unless there's blood connection.
