Capcom has made the RE6 collectors edition 300 f**king dollars here in New Zealand!!!!!

That is the most expensive collectors edition I have ever seen in my EB Games store!! :( Even the Halo 3 or Halo Reach Legendary Edition's were cheaper!!!
You've all heard my mixed to negative thoughts about the upcoming RE6, but all and all I still love Resident Evil with a passion, but this is f**king ridiculous!! :(
So it's sad for me to have to say this but since the 1990s I've been playing RE and I have always bought the collectors editions for each RE game that had a collectors edition, even the RE5 one, but for the first time ever, I'm skipping this collectors edition all thanks to Capcom's greed.

What are your thoughts on this ridiculously overpriced collectors edition?
 
You know, that's part of the reason why most kiwis are gapping it to Aussie...
But anyway, I do think it's very overpriced, but hey, Capcom love taking people's money, so looks like they might be losing quite a few customers...

- Its 80 dollars here in the united states and thats not worth the price !!! the only physical copy you get is resident evil 6 the rest are downloads....how much are the downloads on psn for you? i can buy res evil 1-3 for like $3 a piece on psn! the resident evil 5 gold edition goes for like $17 at gamestop now or your case eb games..resident evil 4 download is like $14 on psn or $55 for hd physical copy which i have that includes code veronica from play asia -what you do is buy it from an american site or play asia and it will be way cheaper !!!! - if you really want that.... i think its a garbage deal if you ask me!! if it were all physical copies id buy it for sure!! no way in hell for $300.00 !!!
 
Why not buy the U.S version and have it shipped to you? I don't think you have region locks there so it would work.

I got physical copies of RE1, 2, 3 and CVX all for $2.50 as a deal (damn great deal IMO) I downloaded the HD version of RE4 and CVX on PS3 (cant remember the prices but they were reasonable)

Cause then I wouldnt be able to return it for a full refund (which I plan on doing) lol

-dont buy it then.......its nothing special at all and you have the games!! I can find physical copies of 1-3 any day of the week for like a dollar at a flea market or pawn shop. i just bought res 4 on play asia cause its my all time fav ! bought the wii hd ones on psn...not worth a physical buy to me...

-no region lock on ps3... just the saves are, you cant play an asia game n use the save on an american version or vice versa

Believe me, I have no intention of buying this, once I heard the price, I said no straight away, even the $130 standard edition had me thinking twice but I'm gonna get my money back anyway so there's no worry there. But this $300 price just shocked me! I've never seen a collectors edition that small and that expensive in my EB games store before, NEVER!!!
 
I will say this:
New Zealand is quite expensive with releasing certain collectors editions....
But all in all, it's as you said : "*****ng ridiculous"...

It's Capcom's greed because I've never seen a collectors edition that small being that expensive, when Gears of war 3 was being released, I got the GOW3 collectors edition plus a Retro Lancer Replica all for $210 which is a damn good deal considering the Replica costs $170 alone and the GOW3 collectors edition was $130 alone lol

I am not surprised. The prices of games in Australia and New Zealand are always much higher than in the US or UK sadly. I remember buying PS3 games from overseas for $30, that were $130 here in Australia.

It's 80 here...Which is very reasonable...Considering the game alone costs 60...The hoodie would see in stores for 20 at LEAST making the 80, making pretty much everything else free...All, I won't be buying it cause I can't afford it, but it's not totally unreasonable...

Doesn't really matter...If you're a RE collecter, like myself, then it's rare and cool...I don't have an RE obsession cause of everybody ELSE...I do it cause I think it's cool...So if you're an RE collector you'll know what it means, and that makes it worth it...

I don't know if everyone realizes it, but the $ 298 is New Zealand dollar (NZD). I checked, and the exchange rate for NZD:USD is 0.79. So in USD it's $ 237 for the collectors edition, which is also quite a lot. But you get much more than the game; a hooded sweatshirt and some other stuff. I guess it shouldn't be this expensive, but I don't know the quality of the items. For this price it should be exclusive.

-the set is garbage...plain and simple. If it were a res evil 6 umbrella jacket, stars,or bsaa with patches and all. then physical copies of the game and a cool figure, maybe ustanak? then it would be well worth it!!! -even all merc maps unlocked would be more of a bargain. capcom doesnt give a rats ass anymore...they needed to make this game great otherwise resident evil would take a huge hit and capcoms already in hit water as it is!!-they handed over dmc and lost planet to other people and nickle and dime the hell out of streetfighter!

...Really...Hot water...They seem to be doing FINE right now...Better than EVER actually...You can b*tch and moan about Capcom all you want...All compaines are ALWAYS gonna have thier issues...At the end of the day, they are STILL supplying us with GREAT games. And let's face it, Capcom isn't doing all of this for the fans that b*tch and moan...They're doing it for us...The fans that still have their back and still love what they're doing, and can't wait to have more. Besides Nintendo, there is not BETTER gaming company than Capcom. They've been successful since the early late 80's early 90's, and they're STILL successful to this day...They must be doing SOMETHING right...
