Here's a classic scenario for you, but one i've never really known the answer to.

(try keep it to the point )

How many have or would, take their best friend ( opposit sex or whatever ) to the next level as in a relationship ? in other words, if your feelings towards this someone changed or got stronger, would you stick or twist ?

take me for example, my best friend is female, and she is ( as it goes without saying ) a diamond of a girl, she's always been there for me, and we've known each other a long time, long time.

But for a while, maybe....ohhh... 2 years... my feelings have changed and i've realized the girl i've been looking for was right under my n0se all along.

However, she's been in a very steady and loving relationship for about 3/4 years now... so we'll not go there, but all i'll say is i have no intention of rocking that boat.

when we first met, i think there was feelings from her to me, but you knnow how it goes, you pull her out of so many fires that she starts seeing you differently...

She's helped me over the past 5 years that have been the worst and most difficult time of my life, and i credit my recovery and survival largely, down to her femanine brilliance.

But i wanna know,

Has anyone ever taken that swan dive ?

is there something to be said for keeping the lip sealed as i could lose a friend as a result ?

Should i make myself clear ?

should i continue as a faithful and loyal friend ?

What do you reckon ?

Over to you.

Thankfully, I've never been in this situation because dating my closest male friends, for one reason or another, was never an option. :p But coming out to her with your feelings never goes without risk. If she feels the same way, then great. But if she does not, it's entirely likely that you can mess something up that can't be fixed or at the very least damper your relationship with irreversible awkwardness. Just know what your relationship is and what it isn't before possibly digging yourself into a hole. :)

Unfortunately mate, you have to bide your time in this one in my opinion or you will ruin all that you wish for.

It's a tough situation, but I'm a firm believer in the whole 'if it's meant to be' business. So don't get hung up on it/her, just go about your life and see what happens matey.

Remember the tiger is clever, if it reveals itself to early it risks loosing out on everything ;)

Well my best friend that I've known since I was five, is a male. I can't imagine being more than friends though...I wouldn't want to ruin a good thing. My mom and stepdad on the other hand, they were best friends before they started dating. They absolutely adore each other and no matter what happens, they stick together.

This is exactly the knife edge am talking about!

If it's not too personal a question trem, have you been through the whole ( your partners think you're secretly seeing him to ? or jealousy )

I have actually..everything from "are y'all dating?" to "y'all are gonna end up getting married one day".
