Resident Evil: Village Woman Screaming in Castle Dimitrescu

When you first enter Castle Dimitrescu proper, specifically the first time you enter the Mask Room, you hear a bloodcurdling scream echo from afar, in the direction of the doors to the Main Hall.

I fully believe that was the death scream of the Maiden from the "Maiden" demo, when Alcina catches her at the courtyard door in the Dining Room, and stabs her through the face.

What do you all think? Was the scream from the dying Maiden, or another woman entirely?

No, I think the Maiden is before Ethan's time in the castle.

One of the cellar enemies drops an item, a necklace, which people have said is the Maiden.

The Maiden is one of the ghoulish creatures living in the Castle's cellar (the only, truly creepy part of the whole game - at least when it comes to what RE should be - the giant baby\fetus is something out of Silent Hill).

Right, but she could have been made into that before Ethan gets to the dungeon area, yeah?

Yeah, but Ethan is ...what? like minutes/hour from reaching the dungeon. I figure the mutation would take much longer.
