I'm gonna vote Leon
I havnt seen Chris in many protective roles
But Leon has been in many and he's not that great at it
How many times did Ashley get kidnapped in re4
Claire was the one protecting sherry in re2
The president got infected in re6
The army guy in degeneration
Buddy in damnation
I wouldn't have him protect me
I just don't think he makes a great protector

Well it's hard to choose because both are good in their own way.
A lot but at the end both of them returned home safe and in one piece.
Well that guy was Reckless. but Leon protected Angela, Claire, Rani and the other survivors.
And he Also took a bullet for Ada in RE2.

I totally agreed. And Chris is less annoying
Yes, BSAA guys died under his command, but he wasn't their nanny, and they could cared about themselves 
I'm really getting tired of Chris.... You don't know my passion for killing him, I'd do it right now if he was standing in front of me. And it's so sad how everyone on his team are dying. I would hate to be a member of his team. He offers no protection (No offence, that's just me stating an opinion)
Chris was never a bodyguard and considering Leon saved Ashley in a situation where most would have failed, proves he's the best bodyguard in the business.
Voted chris. Leon had been burdened upon with the protective mission in RE4 and it was the major one i suppose and ultimately SUCCEEDED. The president`s death is partly Helena`s fault and well...did you truly think that the guy in degeneration would`ve lasted the whole movie with that naivety? And i think buddy was last seen breathing. I rest my case.
I just want to point out I get what your saying about my examples.
But when Leon's protecting someone it comes across like it's his Ego that's making him do it.
Where as Claire develops a strong bond between herself and does a good job because it seems more like she cares.

They're both terrible. If you want to get rid of the people in a specific town, there's no need to drop bombs and cause war and natural disasters. Just send in Chris and Leon and tell them to protect the citizens. You'll be amazed at how much better and safer this method is.
so if he is not making bubble eyes protecting the person makes him egoistic? That suggested, then he probably was/is Faaar too kind towards ashley and others i may say. Pardon me but i don`t get it.
