I find it funny that, even though the comment probably wasn't completely serious, Chris's lack of sexual behaviour is pointed out as a sign of him being gay. From my experience, gay guys are usually the horniest, capable of dirty thoughts and passing perverted comments even while in a serious situation and surrounded by women.

Clearly, Chris is not gay [...]

And how is that "clear"? Because he's not (always) wearing flashy clothes, a golden wig and high heels like Sheva in her disco outfit? The only thing that's clear is that no character has an officially confirmed sexuality, the only guys who have ever displayed obvious romantic interest in other (female) characters so far being Leon and Steve (and not even that proves anything). Even if Chris has never shown any unquestionable signs of being gay, he hasn't shown any such signs of being straight either. That's probably what people mean when they point out the lack of sexual chemistry in his dealings with Jill, as we all know that Chris isn't exactly the best at concealing or controlling his emotions. So unless we cling to the old stereotype that a big, masculine-looking guy can't possibly be gay (which is a popular misconception), Chris could be gay, straight, bisexual or asexual, have a thing for gay porn and still be straight, wear women's underwear or whatever else, and we wouldn't know. So, people, be careful with the term "clear", for everyone has their little secrets.

Except for the fact that he's been depicted as straight on a number of occasions. He's been shown on a date with a woman in a viral video for Resident Evil 5. He's had dialogue that suggested he likes women... young women, in Lost in Nightmares that was unfortunately cut. And most recently, it was hinted that he might have a thing for Jill in Resident Evil Revelations. For people to say things like "he shows no sexual feelings for Jill, so he must be gay" is just outlandish because there's nothing that points to that conclusion. He was partnered with Piers, where were his romantic feelings? He didn't jump on Piers in RE6 so he must be straight... It's not like there are more important things to be worrying about.

More importantly, these are fictional characters. Capcom has the liberty to do whatever they want with these characters and portray them however they please. There are no secrets and so far, Chris has been portrayed as a straight male. There's no reason to believe otherwise aside from jokes and people having the need to fulfill their sick wet dreams. Sexuality has hardly played a role in this series but is still very aware of it without putting so much emphasis on it because it's really not that important to the story.

Those viral videos also suggest that he goes on missions with his sister, that Sheva is still his partner after Africa, and a few other things that are hard to believe or simply not true, so they're probably not canon.

He's had dialogue that suggested he likes women... young women, in Lost in Nightmares that was unfortunately cut.

As you said yourself, it was cut. Probably for a reason. But let's say for a moment that it's true, if he indeed likes younger women and even talks to Jill about it, then the following point must be moot:

And most recently, it was hinted that he might have a thing for Jill in Resident Evil Revelations.

Interpretation. All I see in Revelations is Chris ignoring the advances of a woman who is literally throwing herself at him while searching for another woman who he's all business with once he finds her. Parker makes an ambiguous comment, but if that's all the proof there is, it's not very convincing.

That's right, such claims are silly, but with how little canon information we have about the characters' sexualities, we just have to take everything into account that there is, and if a handsome guy with a real chance of getting a girlfriend if he wants one keeps ignoring all the hot ladies he's paired with over time, that is a little suspicious, don't you think? Jill isn't the only one after all. Yes, the mission comes first, but still... I can also see Steve being totally into Claire without it being made a priority all the time.

Nope, he's been portrayed as asexual, just like most other characters, and that's probably for the best. As for the "sick dreams" part... I think you're taking this whole thing a little too seriously. This thread was created for fun, as stated by the person who opened it, so let's treat it that way and not be hostile like certain other users (I won't say names) who apparently got banned lately for that reason... And so, to get back to the original question: Which character, if any, do you think is most likely gay?

Exactly.

There's a such thing called not mixing business with pleasure. Just because you work together doesn't mean you have to go together.
But he shows no desire towards her. Your telling me Chris will never retire if he doesn't die off; when he does he could marry Jill. But he doesn't so business and pleasure will eventually no longer exists.

True, but that doesn't mean it can't happen eventually. Its just at the time of all this going on there's no time for love. Feelings will make you weak and get you killed. There's a time and place for romance. Wouldn't imagine it being during a biohazardious war.

Yet, they're representations of the character that Capcom was okay to sell the game with.

For reasons related to the story, not because he's homosexual... A lot of speech was cut from that game. It was written for those characters for a reason, but just wasn't really necessary to progressing the story. The simple fact that it was written for his character and received voice over is proof enough of what Capcom wants from this character in terms of sexuality. It's the idea that counts here more than the actual words since "officially" it was never spoken.

Resident Evil Revelations released after RE5. Even if it goes back on canon, someone at Capcom changed their mind or simply wanted to tease the idea, as popular as it is. It was a quite obvious hint due to a combination of dialogue and imagery, which the majority of the fans got from that scene.

And what's so suspicious about that exactly? Didn't Jill have a boyfriend according to RE2? Wasn't Jessica a little too superficial for a guy of Chris' character? Then there's Sheva, random chick he just met, and even then, he was dead set on finding Jill. Is it suspicious that Chris didn't make a move or show any romantic feelings to any of the men on his squad? Also wasn't Steve like 17?

Sure, this is a bit of a joke topic, I can see the humor behind it, but to go as far as some do to back up a certain view is just crazy. It stops being funny once people go through great lengths to say why they feel a certain way by creating false points. Also, I'm sorry you think I'm being hostile, but I'm simply sharing my view on the subject.

As for the question at hand, I have no real reason to believe any of the characters are gay. Some characters have no clear direction and it could be a possibility, lets say for example, Helena.

I highly disagree with this to be honest bro. Feelings make you stronger. Give you a driving force. If Chris loves Jill, he would be at his BEST to make sure she survives. Anybody would if they truly love someone. Feelings are not weakness. In Resident Evil, OR in real life. Feelings are what make us human, and Capcom does great at creating characters that feel human. Also, there is always time for love. There isn't always time for Hugging, kissing, a fancy dinner, and sex...But there is always time for love...

Its different under certain circumstances. In any army they train you to be emotionless and cold because feelings and love will cloud your judgement from making hard choices. Some that can cost your life. You have to know when to turn them on and off. Chris and Leon both know this which is why you don't see them dating in their line of duty. Though it doesn't mean they're emotionless. It just a better way of protecting themselves and others.

And the army is supposed to be a good example of that? I know plenty or military men, and all the military does is dehumanize you, brainwashing you for their own devious purposes. Making a decision based off of love, no matter what the outcome, is the right one. If it gets you killed...If it gets someone else killed...It doesn't matter. Yes, there is always a greater good, but we aren't talking about "dating" in the line of fire. We are talking about being in love. And Leon does put his emotions first. Ada doesn't, and she's a better example. And while what she does is...Effective...It's HARDLY human, and definitely not something one should ever look up to as a "Hero" or "Right." Not that you ever said those words, but how you compared the military to this isn't the best, considering the military trains you to be like Ada. How is that healthy. I'd rather a stupid decision get me killed. Better dead than living a life devoid of love...

I should've said special forces, but you get my point. In my opinion you have to stay sharp and somewhat cold because your feelings can be your biggest weakness, in the case of RE. Though I get everything you've said so I'll end it here.

I would say Wesker or Chris; Wesker- because of so many reasons (and also reminds me of Thin White Duke David Bowie), and Chris- judging by his costumes especially the leather daddy and the sailor outfit. It's basically screaming "ready for the pride parade!" (but of course, you can never judge someone off on how they dress... maybe) and also, I agree with what KennedyKiller said.

Oh, and I forgot Piers, jfc. The way he looks at his captain, etc. I also wonder what would happen if Capcom added an LGBT character or what if they outed a major character...

He's Chris's most recent boyfriend, so the indications are self-explanatory. If you don't believe it, take a look at the second gif in my signature.

Ever since RE 6 came out I've believed that. But if Chris is in the poll, shouldn't Piers be?
