What was your most epic boss fight?

And the mini knife-duel with Krauser some time before the actual duel was bad ass too! I almost had to change my underwear.
"so what do you know, its the bitch in the red dress!" - Jack (wise ass) Krauser

Thunder Force V - Rynex boss fight. When the music started my jaw dropped to the floor. Actually, stage 5 as a whole was epic and made me cry tears of joy.
The Metal Gear Rex fight on MGS also comes to mind.

Two bosses: Sniper Wolf in MGS, and The End in MGS 3. First, because for long time I had no idea how to defeat her, but finally I made it. Of course, when I listened her last speech, I cried- it was so sad...
Fight with The End- of course, we can use "clock" glitch, or "noise", and find him very fast in the forest, but I wanted to get his camo, and rifle, and whole fight lasted 2 hours- 2 hours of sneaking, waiting and listening, where is he ;). Kojima created amazing games...

Also remember fight with Yiazmat in Final Fantasy XII- six hours, this bastard had 50 mln HP :/

The fight against Nyx Avatar from Persona 3. After fighting the real Nyx, I was crying for a long time because of the ending. Also, the fight against Elizabeth in P3. Took foreverrrrr.

Metal Gear REX is the coolest thing ever.
It looks like a giant metal dinosaur, it fires lock-on rockets, has a lazer beam for a dick, and it screeches. The music is absolutely perfect, Gray Fox's death is legendary, and beating the thing is one of the most satisfying moments in all my years of gaming. This is the pinnacle of boss fights.

And you get to PILOT the freakin' thing in MGS4!
It can also do roundhouse kicks now!
It makes no sense at all, since it exploded a bunch of times and has been dormant for almost a decade, but the awesomeness more than made up for it. Controlling it yourself makes you wonder "how the hell did Snake beat this monster all those years ago?"

Edit: Oh wow, I never heard that Codec convo with Campbell after Fox's death.
"If you ask me, there's no happiness to be found in death. No peace either. I'm gonna leave here alive."
I am not gay, but if I was, it would be for Solid Snake.

The absolute toughest boss I ever played was Boss Rugal in "The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999."
I was always really good at SNK fighters, but that mother****** just handed me my ass over and over and over again before I finally figured him out. I loved it, however frustrating it happened to be! A good SNK fighter is like a good chess match... yes, I'm a nerd.

How did you defeat Sniper Wolf? I just hid behind a rock on the far right and hit her with nikita missiles.
I know about the clock glitch with The End, but what is that "noise"?

When I fought with her first time, I didn't know about Nikita Missiles "glitch", and I beat her normally, with PSG. It was very hard, because every time, when I only looked from behind the stone, she would send me a small lead gift... But, at last, I was able to lay near the stone and targeted on. Sniper Wolf was hidden behind the trees, and I only waited to see her breath (after that she checked where I am, and this was my chance to shoot her).

In MGS3, with The End, if you don't want to fight too long with him- stand in one place, take the weapon and shoot (that's why I called it "noise"). Probably you will no need to look for him- he will find you. When he shoot you, remove the arrow, check on the map where is he, and shoot him with sniper rifle, or even if you want, use other guns. In my opinion is the fastest way to defeat him in the forest.

Sniper Wolf was hard? Damn, I know she took me a few tries, but maybe it was just beginners luck.

That gives you no satisfaction of the fight. Holding him up was the thing I least expected possible, yet I did it randomly. It's a sniper battle, not a put yourself in danger for no reason battle.

#1- I never said "I'm hardcore player" etc., so you know- for you she was easy, for me not ;)

#2- I know that, but Mr. Scary ask my what I mean when I wrote "noise" ;)

The most epic boss fight that I had is actually a tie between 3 bosses, all from the same series. They are Henry Cooldown, Maragret Moonlight, and Alice Twilight from the No More Heroes series.

Henry was just awsome. The fact that he is your twin brother who has an Irish accent, he marries Sylvia Christel (The woman that you try to make out in the game), has fast attacks, a ton of HP, and an awsome one hit kill where he stabs you, throws you in the air, slashes you upwards which sends you higher, then throws you back to the ground where you get impaled by his beam katana, and Henry lands on top of the beam katana causing the ground to break. All of this by a non-super human person.

As for Maragret Moonlight not only was the pay-off to fight her excellent, which was an long level that took a long time to beat, but it was satifiying. She dresses up like the grim reaper (Just without a skull head and black robes), has sycthes that can turn into a gun. She is quick and deadly, she'll also teleport to a place where she can shoot you. Not to mention that the background song is amazing, not only does it explain why she is an assassin, which the reason is because she wants to kill people who she believed are sinners, but the song also mocks Travis Touchdown by calling him something far from a hero.

Henry Cooldown and Maragret Moonlight are perfect examples of a memorable boss fight. However a great fight and being memorable doesn't make them the best. The best one out of all three and shines brighter than both is Alice Twilight.

Alice Twilight is a prime example of having an excellent fight, excellent memorablitiy, perfect set up, and having an excellent of everything. As much as I talked about how much Henry an Maragret are great, how can Alice beat a guy who is fast, cool, an can crush the ground without super human powes, and a girl who dresses as the grim reaper and kills people who she believes has sinned? First is her personality, she is honorable, and just like Travis she questions why she is an assassin and killing people. If that is enough to be epic for you, then how about this. She weilds not one, not two, not three, not four, but she wields five beam katanas and a robotic tail. It's sun down, two people equal in skill fight with swords in what could be for nothing. This fight could be explained as one of the, if not THE, greatest sword fight in video games (In my opinion). She has a ton of HP, great personality, awsome attacks, and overall an incredible boss.

I just wished that you didn't kill Alice and that she was the final boss of the game rather than that pretentious, ungrateful, spoiled, bratty, self-rightous, manipulative, annoying, cheap, lazy, unfair, and unlikeable Jasper Batt Jr.

I've actually had a pretty recent one a week or so ago. 10 hours ago in Tales of Vesperia. A boss named Gattuso, rightfully thought to be the hardest boss in the game. It's extremely early in game, but barely any of the battle talents are unlocked by then. If you know what I'm talking about, Fatal Strike, OVL2, and such. On top of that, the game tricks you into thinking that you can't shop anymore, when you actually can. I spent 2 hours on that boss. Each other took me around... 10 minutes? No retries.

How can you guys miss out Metal Gear Solid, i mean what's more epic than a hand to hand combat between 2 arch rival brothers? And it took quite a few rounds and alot of Snakkkkkeeee!!!!!

The Raiden vs Fighter Jet was also pretty epic. And also the Metal Gear vs Metal Gear in MGS4, it wasn't as hard but the feeling was awesome.

Also any boss fight for Fist Of North Star Ken's Rage at highest difficulty. Nothing more epic than missing the final QRT part after spending all your energy & most of your life bar taking them down, just to have their health bar refill halfway when you miss a QRT, and most likely gonna miss the following one...

Final Fantasy XII - Yiazmat (because it takes hours to beat him!)

That was my most epic, because I was rubbish at setting up gambits for automated spell-casting etc, so had to spend hours on the 1 fight killing this beast.

RE bosses are always great too though, especially Wesker and Jill in RE5 :P

I'm gonna add a few more to my list.

Liquid Ocelot - Just like my top 2 favorite No More Heroes bosses, I like to call this boss memorable and one of the best. The visuals, the music, the gameplay of the fight, just about everything about this boss is just something I like. Two people, battleing it out, changing fighting styles, with each punch feeling real.

Bad Girl from No More Heroes - So while this may not be the best boss in the No More Heroes series, she is definatly one of my favorites. When I first saw I was like "There is not going to be that much challenge to this fight.", and I think a lot of people thought about that because, well think of it, a beam katana wielding maniac versus a baseball bat wielding psychopathic maniac who wears a pink dress, stockings, and heels, and has a diet that only consists of beer. However the fight is far from disappointment in terms of the battle. It's long and even challegning, Bad Girl gets many new abilities like setting her baseball bat on fire, smacking people towards you, and possibly the most deciving is an ability she likes to call "BATTER UP!" as it will instantly kill you and it's deciving because she sits down on the floor crying which she does quiet a few times and you can barely tell if it's the instant kill or not.

sephiroth from kingdom hearts 1 and 2
ganon from any legend of zelda game
majoras mask from Zelda Majoras Mask
sniper wolf from Metal Gear Solid 1
