So, I never really payed attention to this game since I knew I wouldn't be getting it, but now it's being released on consoles, and wanted to know what it was about. What characters, what's the story, etc.

Without trying to spoil too much:
This game takes place before "lost in nightmares" (the dlc in re5)
Jill and Former FBC partner Parker, aswell as Chris and former FBC partner Jessica are on an abandoned cruise ship trying to find details on a terrorist group responsible for the destruction of a city rather like te destruction on raccoon city.

FBC was a group made by Morgan Lansdale (like the BSAA was made to counter bows) and were in charge of trying to regain Control of the city "Terragrigia"
Parker and jessica escaped the city just before its destruction and joined the BSAA under the gead of BSAA captain O'Brian
You take control as different people, in different teams. The story switches between present day, the past and simultaneous events to get the full story.

The virus causing havoc in this game is called theT-Abyss virus, which is sort of a stronger - more aquatic variety gene of the Tvirus.

Originally it starts out with Jill and Parker trying to find Chris, and they find that his last known co-ordinates are on a cruise ship. The ship is infested with BOWs. It's hard to say too much about ruining the story, but basically there are bioterrorists on the loose, and a conspiracy, and the BSAA start investigating them. It's totally worth getting this game, it gives hours of fun and it's more like the old RE style, creepier (at least, I found parts creepy) and much less linear. Plus, the secondary mode of play is almost like a game in itself. Totally worth the money. :)

I agree with Jen.
I remember when I was first playing the game, when I saw there was no co op I was a bit disappointed since I like co op games.
After playing through the story I really enjoyed it, and I got a very nice suprise when I found out I had unlocked raid mode, which is a challenging story mode like playthrough.
Playing with a good co op partner makes it so much fun.

The game comes out just as I finish uni for the year, so I'll definitely be able to play :) I'm not sure if I'll have to play my brother's Xbox for live, or if I'll get live on my Xbox, so I'll let you know my GT nearer the time. :)

Personally, i feel it is overpriced and should have been about 2400 MS points / £24.99 Max. Its not nearly as long as re5 or re6, the enemies arent as varied and theres no zombies/javos. Theres no campaign co-op, no multiplayer, just the raid co-op mode- i feel this raid is very, very, over rated, its just the SAME stages from the games, they don't flood with enemies like in mercenaries mode, its very slow just trecking through the level re-killing all the usual enemies, exactly same as campaign but they put massive Health bars above each enemys head, which looks terrible, and immersion breaking, the health bars looked silly. no random spawns and No 150 enemies, just a few enemies along the level as normal., you just go through the level then its done, no combos or + melees or anything. to me, Raid mode, its just like the single player game in co-op, i dont get the big hype around raid , - mercenaries and onslaught are much better. They should have made the main game co-op and more varied co-op/multi modes. The only thing going for raid is the gun adjustments but all that is prety much campaign style.

I like the exploring style better in the campaign than the very linear re5/re6, as its more like re4 where u have a large area to scavenge and kill enemies, finding your own way around.
The 3d map on the ds was terrible, i hope they changed that. The dodge mechanism was also Bullsh*t, you can't just click a button to dodge roll, you have to move the left analog stick down or up right when an enemy swings and its so dodgy, it only works half the time, its like the dodge in Re3 if u remember that.
I also feel the characters arent as strong, apart from Chris n Jill obviously, i duno about that Parker guy and dont like the main boss much. Overall, i feel this game is average at best, coming from a big re fan, i find revelations very over rated

I like the dodge mechanic, I think it takes real skill to pull off and it feels so satisfying if you do it successfully.
Free roam dodging is just too easy.

it doesnt really take skill to be honest its a kinda broken mechanism, as it uses the movement stick, and u have move the stick down but they automatically jump in the correct direction, u dont really have much control over it. You might already be moving the stick (u know to move) then what must you do, drop the stick, then quickly jab it down, its just hit n miss and weird. and should have been tap a button or hold a trigger and move stick, cos the stick is already in use

Oh no. Yeah your right about the button that needs pressing (or stick) but I think in general it's good. If they changed the button it would be great.

Well I hope the new features and additions make it worth it's money even more but I'm happy to buy it in either case.
I'm still holding out hope for a Claire scenario dlc in re6

I could not have been more happy to have played Resident evil Revelations on the 3DS. It just played so well (for me at least). I think people who were turned off by 6 will be really surprised when they play Revelations.

That's the thing, Revelations is a surprise - you don't actually expect it to be as good as it is :)
