Things needed to be fixed

I thought we could make a list of all the things we believe that could use some improvement since the update took place.

- Personal titles. We can't edit them anymore.

- Length of profile messages. 420 characters is a too small number when it comes to long discussions.

Post your own ideas and I'll update the list. Hopefully the admins will materialise them if they like them and when they get the time.

Edit: hmm I think the title is grammatically incorrect, or not?
 
We desperately need spoiler tags, but I'm sure the admins know how we feel about that by now lol
 
Profile messages are not designed to replace conversations, hence the standard length of 420 characters. I can ask the powers that be but I can't promise anything on that score.

Spoiler tags are a mod which are unsupported which means any problems and we get no assistance from XenForo. I feel your pain (honest to goodness I do!) but until a supported mod is released, spoiler tags won't be appearing any time soon. It is a pain, I really do understand that, but we just kind of have to write SPOILER before saying anything, erm, spoilery. And if it's for sigs, people need to exercise a little restraint and keep sigs small rather than huge.

Custom user titles can be changed - just go to your name at the top and select "personal details" from the drop down box. Underneath your avatar should be a text box to change your title with. If you don't see it, let me know and I'll check user permissions to ensure it's not a perk for certain groups.

I've noticed that box at DMC but I couldn't find it here. That's why i mentioned it.
 
Ok, let me take a look because it should be ok for everyone. Also, checked out the profile message limits and it should be already at 1000 chars so I think something isn't doing its job properly so let me take a look and see what I can do :)

EDIT: try the custom title thing now. Any change?
 
It was something left unchecked in the control panel...this new system is still confounding me lol

I completely understand. It's all good my dear. I think we can live with some restraint and learning to SPOILER the spoilery stuff xD I know I can.
 
I still have this urge to change the quote graphics (and others) to make it more legible but thats like 6,404th on the list of priorities.
 
Both newest members(in the members section) and latest member(in the main forum page) are not displayed properly. They're stuck on the 10th of March and don't show members who joined after that date.

Also, was it your intention to allow regular members delete their posts after the change?
 
It's meant to be a supporters and staff option only - by default, almost everything is permissible on XenForo so I'm going to have to ruin everyone's day and switch the permissions around again. the DMC forums are a whole different kettle of fish and there are so many things borked with the admin panel I don't even know where to begin with it.

I'm going to fix the panel here now and could someone who isn't a gold member please let me know if they can still delete posts.

Yeah I can report myself too - I don't even know what the hell that's all about but I suppose if you're feeling especially noble you can get yourself told off if you want to...
 
it's an iphone/ipod/ipad app that makes accessing forums on your phone/ipod/tablet a lot easier, loads of forums use it already, and since i will mostly be coming on, on my phone nowadays since i'm always at work i thought there must be other people who access it mostly through phones or something along them lines.
basically if you search for a forum and it's not on taptalk they ask you to contact your site admin, so you or steve-o :)
 
Never heard of it...I don't even know if it's something we can implement either for this site. If it's a fully-supported whatsit then Steve might be able to look into it but if it's not, then it'll have to stay on the back-burner for the time being. Unsupported applications and mods can cause us a lot of trouble so we tend to avoid them - hence the lack of spoiler tags now.
 
ooooooooooo okay, no biggie if you can't.
can still acess the forum anyway, just cool to do things on your apps lol..yerp i'm a geek.
