I've heard they cloneloads of characters and put them in a virus free zone so they can repopulate america or sum **** then a virus spreads out and that's why we see a cloned alice hugging her daughter with loads of police showing up . The bloke who plays carlos said in an interview he will play a carlos who is a father and leads a normal life , so it must be an attempt by umbrella to repopulate the human race , by letting clones reproduce and lead lives outside of the t virus .

That would be interesting.
I now wonder if that child is Alice's too, but not the Alice we've been following in Afterlife and Extinction - both of whom I think could be clones.
As these sites would be an Umbrella controlled area, maybe along with trying to repopulate, they also wanted to recreate the Raccoon city incident so they can either look for ways to more thoroughly control outbreaks or to see how suburb Alice would react.

Bruno: I had intended for this thread to be used in support and a place where fans of the films can talk about the upcoming one. I was going to put that in the title but thought it would be clear, I now know in future to make it more obvious. In regard to my use of 'open minded', I don't mean it to offend, it's just that some people on here seem so adamant that the films and movies can't coexist or even just exist because they aren't the same as the game and want them to be got rid of entirely which seems somewhat extreme and seems to come down to more than personal taste. I'm aware that this a a board for all of Resident Evil, but this thread was in the movie section about Retribution. Coming here and slagging off the films (or that's what it has ammounted to) in a thread that supports the movie, by most definitions, is trolling the people who want to celebrate the films.

Umm, that's because they are really displeased with how the movies have turned out. And no it isn't because the movies aren't exactly like the games, that terribly written/choreographed fight scene between Wesker and Chris/Claire at the end of Afterlife is definitely proof of this. It just looked ridiculous, along with Wesker's intension of eating Alice for dinner.

Hey I just quick looked through the posts so dont know if this idea is thought of yet or not. But here is my idea on what will happen in the new movie based on pics and the trailer.

There is only one way that Alice can seem to be back at events where she was not in, (Such as Raccoon City during the start of the virus) she only got out after most of the people were already gone. Plus I think I heard a few people from the first movie will return.

Its all a VR Simulation.

At the end of the second movie Alice was captured and put into a tank hooked up to tons of things. Then she just easily woke up and escaped. And then somehow Jill and the others were right there to pick her up to help her escape.

My theory is Alice has been in that tank the entire time since the destruction of Raccoon City. Every thing past that, everything that happened in the last few movies... was all a program. And somehow the program clitches and sends her mind to different parts where she was never before.

In the trailer I recall she was in at least two places she was never there. As I said the Raccoon city as the zombies are rising. Plus being at the Tokyo city cross walk where the last movie showed the punk girl zombie bit the guy on the street, that started the "World wide infection" So the program is sending her back to places along the RE movie timline.

This means that in the "real" world there was never a massive Zombie outbreak its all being played out.

Two things I think back this idea up.

1. In the first game the Zombies were released in the mansion to see how a trained unit like the STARS would handle them. It was a test run. Same thing in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, after Major Caine saw that the city was destroyed and that there were survivors, the Stars Unit and Jills group... they woke up Nemesis to go fight them to see what would happen. They used it as another trial run to see how the Nemesis would fight. Umbrella does this again when it shows them making clones of Alice several times in the movies to try to match the power and skill of the "real" one. Thats where Alice got her clones that all died at the start of the last movie.

2. We tend to think of evil as well EVIL. But Umbrella is a HUGE corporation it does everything and makes everything. From toothpaste to cars to other things. The TVirus and other things were used to create BIO Weapons. Weapons they could sell to other bad guys who could released them in a controlled area to take out their enemies. There is no way a corporation would let a single zombie loose in Tokyo to start the end of the world... and kill off all their customers.

Its like what people say with the real life Drug Companies. They do not cure anything anymore because the MONEY is made when people have to spend 100s of bucks a month to buy pills that merely hold the illness up til the next pill.

But going along with the computer simulation idea, if they let a zombie go to start the world wide zombie spread... they can see how the US military and others would try to fight the zombies.

So I am saying since Apocalypse Alice has been in that tank.

My theory based on interviews and other ideas I've read​

Retribution kicks off with Afterlife's payoff with a battle zone aboard the Arcadia. While everyone scrambles among explosions and the invading Umbrella soldiers, Alice loses sight of her friends Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield, and KMart.​

She becomes distracted briefly at the sight of what appears to be her old friend Jill Valentine, who seems to be in charge of the invasion. Near shore, Luther recognizes his friends in trouble and quickly assists them by using a nearby tank, taking down a couple of aircraft himself. The odds are overwhelming though, Alice barely evades Valentine's gunfire and jumps off the Arcadia as a last attempt to save her life. As Jill approaches Alice, she receives orders from Wesker via tech device, to capture Alice and her friends instead. Jill is displeased, but like Elle Driver in Kill Bill, ultimately obeys. ​

Alice awakes in the clandestine facility where she is heavily interrogated by Umbrella officials. Why did you turn on Umbrella? What is your agenda? Alice is silent for days on end. FLASHBACKS before the outbreaks.Alice also questions silently, why Jill has turned on her.​

Meanwhile Luther meets Leon Scott Kennedy along Barry Burton and other survivors. A convoy similiar to Claire's from Extinction. They search for Alice. Leon and Barry are privy to Umbrella's secret location and entrance where they're certain Alice and co have been taken to. ​

Wesker's other assistant Ada Wong shows up to aid Alice in escaping her cell. Alice does not trust her, but she has no choice.During their adventure across the globe...they encounter the undead and armies of Umbrella soldiers, among them, clones of old friends including Rain, Carlos Olivera, and One. Ada informs her that there are many more. The soldiers and army of clones are led by an irate Jill Valentine hot on their heels. ​

As they head on, they encounter a group of Licker eggs. Alice recognizes a clone, that looks just like her daughter Rebbecca (Chambers nod, maybe??) from her old life before the outbreak..and before something even more sinister. Although Ada confirms her as a clone, Alice brings Rebbecca with them, much to Ada's disagreement. As they near a secret exit, The women are ambushed by Jill Valentine and her troopers. One of them, a Rain clone who is closing in on Alice. Somehow, Alice talks some sense into her, just as a group of undead is unleashed. Ada distracts Jill telling Alice to run, assuring her that she will go another route turning the heat on herself. Meanwhile Alice and Rebbecca are overcome by the undead, Alice using guns and chains to try and survive, Rain jumps into the fray, aiding Alice in her escape..out of the facility..that is set to explode at any moment.​

​

Alice and Becky(short for Rebecca) emerge somewhere in Russia, where Leon, Luther, and Barry(and co) approach them in a hot Rolls Royce. At just a brief pause of relief, a giant, mutated Licker attacks, causing the good guys and gals to speed off.Not only is the Licker hot on their tail, so are the mutated plaga infested undead. They're riding motorcycles too and intent on killing Alice and co. Leon, Luther and Barry take out the ganados, and Alice takes out the Licker with her mean driving skills. ​

The group is invaded again however, this time by more undead and Jill Valentine and her troopers. Jill and Alice go at it while Leon and the other men cover Rebecca and take care of some business. Eventually they are able to escape, just barely...one of their group, is severely injured.​

​

Based on some reliable information, Alice's friends, Claire, Chris, and KMart are possibly in another Umbrella location, a base underground the Antarctic. Alice leads the group, towards the base as more FLASHBACKS take place. Some characters have known each other previously. Leon and Jill for example. Leon also stumbled upon Plagas somewhere in Europe, hence his skills on dealing with them during the previous battles. ​

As they arrive, Jill Valentine, Bad Rain, more soldiers and a captive Ada Wong crash the scene before Alice is able to investigate further. Leon, Luther and Barry are ready for another battle as Rain takes down Ada, who is quickly saved by Leon...Alice and Jill Valentine have a war of words, where it is revealed, her friends are not in this underground base and more importantly, that ALICE was born and created, to be part of a superior species of human beings. This is why her DNA bonded with the T Virus years ago. Not only has she been brainwashed, monitored and exploited for years, she serves a more blood tied purpose. She is the sister of Albert Wesker whom is also created as she is, and are part of a group of Wesker Children. Created, designed, and guided, by their father, the founder of The Umbrella Corporation, Ozwell Spencer, who despite his old age, is still alive somewhere. Monitoring, still tracking Alice, who sent for his daughter, to finally come home. ​

Alice is in shock, but after a moment, realizes, her family are with her(Becky, Leon, etc) right now. Her family are also Claire, Chris and KMart, whom she won't quit looking for....Jill asks her to decide. Come home Alice, or death is the other choice.​

Jill looks towards Rain who has boosted her strength via a Plaga serum, "Is that all you've got?" Alice asks looking at Jill. ​

​

"It's more than enough...Alice..."​

​

The epic battle ensues. Blood is spilled, and midway through the battle, Jill's battle suit becomes shredded, partially exposing the red scarab on her chest. The fight continues, both Alice and Jill Valentine injured heavily, but finally...Alice is able to take out the device and killing Rain clone again in the process. Jill is knocked out as Alice looks towards her friends and back down at Jill. She retrieves the communication device attached to Jill's waist and before she can figure it out, Wesker and Ozwell Spencer appear on the tiny monitor. Wesker informs Alice that her friends are still alive, but not for much longer as through the device, Ozwell's eyes pierce into Alice's. She stares back into his icy, yet inviting eyes. Alice in disbelief.​

Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield and Kmart are shown escaping their own cells..when they are approached by Wesker and some Umbrella soldiers, their fate is left unknown. ​

My fiance and I had been wondering if Alice and Wesker were siblings ourselves as this would be cool and quite a plot twist. I hope Birkin will be involved somewhere. After watching Afterlife I'd wondered if Wesker and Birkin are working together - maybe Birkin developed the plagus parasites so they could more effectivly control the infected which Dr Issacs had been trying to do in Extinction.

Yes, I'm eagerly excited over this movie too, as you can tell lol.

And I didn't want to mention this because of it being a potential spoiler but, since it's already been brought up by other posters in here - I'm sure the environments/cities are replicas created by Umbrella to further experiment. This would explain Alice getting to those locations so quickly and explain the good and bad Rain clones, Carlos, etc... that she encounters. Perhaps they will present them (the clones) living their everyday life(as part of the experiment) and then suddenly invaded by the undead and other creatures. This to see how they can better contain outbreaks, among other reasons. Also, I expect several flashbacks after the Arcadia is taken over(opening of the movie), from Alice where we meet her daughter Rebbecca and maybe a husband and an everyday life. This to explain her attachment towards the Becky clone for the obvious reason. I think Leon, Barry, and Luther will help Alice escape the facility (before it explodes) and Ada will aid her as well. Also, I think as was the case with Carlos, LJ, and others...I have a feeling Luther will barely make it into the next film, or get killed off altogether by the end of the film.

I think the theory about Alice being a clone of the real Alice from RE Apocalypse is a very good one and I can buy that given the alternate universe the movies are presented in but....I'm going to stick to my guns and say; I still believe the big secret is Alice being the daughter of Ozwell Spencer. The movies keep getting all twisted and unexpected with it's storylines, but I think this would be a welcome surprise. It will bring everything full circle. I just hope Jill Valentine isn't killed off at the end of this one. And I'm upset Claire isn't in this, as she is tied as my favorite female hero from the RE franchise next to Alice.


Then again, because Anderson is set on upping the ante in each movie and the surprises, I'm going to hope we get the Claire, Chris, and KMart cameos at the end or atleast the start of the movie when the Arcadia sinks from Jill's invasion.

Edit - I'm glad you and your fiance share the same enthusiasm for the movies as I do. I would enjoy seeing Birkin in this one too, but I don't know if Anderson would want to include so much in this one. I do wish this movie is atleast an hr and maybe, forty minutes. I want the movie to be long and try and cover up some of the plot-holes from the previous installments.

There is talk about doing a trilogy prequel with one of the game characters after the 6th film closes this story, and I wish they pick Leon. That way we can get to see him escape from Raccoon City, and maybe check out his adventure in Europe and rescue of Ashley. Or better yet, have them do a complete reboot. Not that I want them to replace the Alice story, but I can appreciate different versions of the RE Universe as I do with Spider Man, Batman, and other story arcs.

I think that one of the good things about having little background on Alice is that many revelations can come out and being Ozwells daughter would be good and give us more understanding as to why Alice has been the only successful person to properly bond with the T-Virus if she's been 'designed' and altered all her life.
I would have loved Claire to be in this movie - she's one of my favourte film characters too and another great female lead. In interviews Milla has said there should be a big reunion in the sixth installment so at least she should be back then if there's no cameo.
As Jill is such a iconic character I hope she will be around for the next film, especially as I hope we will get to know more about Jills past after the Raccoon city outbreak.
As much as I'd like a prequel, I prefer your idea of Leons adventure in Europe as he's my favourite male game character. I would like the same team to make it though!
