This is the intro for Resident Evil Gaiden on the Gameboy Color SP. The music sounds interestingly similar to a certain horror film...just in 8 bit sound.

Has anybody every had the displeasure of playing this rare gem of a game?

I have never played it...when the time comes, I'll go the emulation route.

I was looking into adding this game to my collection but the prices for a CIB are insanely high.
I was lucky enough to come across it in a Gamestop, no case, just the cartridge. It's cool to have, but the game blows...

I'd have to give another try, but it's almost like those pokemon games, but when you encounter an enemy it has a horizontal bar and you have to time the button press just so to "attack" or "shoot" the zombies and stuff. I literally could not with this game.

Operation Raccoon City was bad....but i DID finish that one.

I first played it in 2018, but only finished it in 2021, because it took me a while to learn how the aim system worked, but regardless of it, I think Gaiden is just an ok game, it's not bad, but it's not the most fun game out there, the music is irritating/repetitive and it seems like all the rooms are similar, giving the impression that you're riding in circles.

With a more interesting battle system and updated graphics, Gaiden could turn into a great game, even if it's not canon.
