Do you guys have, like, a certain setting you like your graphics options set to? It took me too long to figure out what was best for my computer, and some of them feel obsolete? But a lot are soo important for the game play.

RE7 is weird and strangely optimized and some of the settings make little sense but l'd say as long you keep the game to the native resolution (do not turn on the 'Interlaced' feature, was the dumbest thing ever incorporated), do NOT turn on V-Sync, and try to keep the framerate at around your monitor refresh rate (if it's 60hz, aim for 60fps, etc.) I'd say you're OK, even if you have to crank the settings down.
If you can't hit at least 50 fps at native resolution and low settings it's probably time to upgrade your hardware
