Resident Evil 4 mods section question.

Hello everyone,

This topic is more towards the admins on this site, but if another staff member can answer that would be great.

The thing is, some of my modding buddies have noticed that their RE4 mods have been posted here, now we really do not have a problem with our mods being posted on other sites so long as our names are posted alongside them giving us credit for our work which for the most part has been done by this site.

But the question is concerning that some of the mods have a "premium download" or "paid download" attached to it. Some of the modders on the other site have seen this and really do not like the idea of someone selling their mods to the fans.

Granted there is a link that lets you go to the original topic to download it from there and bypass the premium download, it just seems that the thought of it possibly being sold doesn't set right.

Here are some of the mods in question

http://residentevilnews.com/games/resident...rla-mercenaries

Now my question is, is there a reason why some of these mods have a premium download?

I agree to cool... i kind of want some confirmation that all my good time and effort on my mods are not being sold by third parties...

...I'm actually pretty disappointed at this question. Go to rapidshare. Go to mediafire. In fact, go to almost any download site and they will have a premium service that allows you to download at uncapped speeds. Also, it's not as if the admins are the one's posting and hosting the mods. I mean, seriously, you're asking for the motives behind a user that is using a free file sharing service and is in no way asking for you to buy the premium service. I guarantee you they get no money from that subscription if someone does pay for it.

I figured that It may just be something similar to those sites where the premium download is just a "optional" better and faster download that isn't required.

But I mostly made this topic to ease some of the modders minds on the other site by getting a confirmation from Steve or one of the staff members.

I also highly doubt there is any wrong doing on the Admins part, they don't seem like the type for anything bad, but this topic is just so I can let the others know the staff's outlook and opinion on this.

So, by not allowing a download service that is anything but self hosted or completely free, the staff would be right?

No, I'm simply looking for confirmation that the premium download thing is not their doing and is simply something the host put up.

This is all simply to ease the minds of the modders who have a problem with this

How could you be disappointed by the question.. it was a valid question in my eyes because not everybody is as savvy on the internet as some and there was confusion on a site as to the premium downloading of mods... thanks edgestyles and ToCool74... you was a great help, ToCool74 posting this will give some people on the other forum some ease of mind and edgestyle answered perfectly without promoting drama where it is not needed.. L we understand what you are saying but this is pointless drama we meant no disrespect by this post and no one was being accused just questioned and we thank you for your fast response... however your communication skills on tender topics needs room for improvement :)

dude, they're just asking for a clarification, don't get too disappointed, it's a question, not an accusation in my opinion, what they are really meant is only because their mods is posted here and the people out there should pay some prices for it if they want to have it, and why it is going like that ;)

Well, I know squat-all about mods so unfortunately I'm not much help in that department. The only person who can answer this for certain is Steve and/or Angel, so let's just wait for their answer before jumping to conclusions.

Thanks.
