Almost a Jibble Sammich
Just this crazy, off-the-top-of-my head idea I had - I'm sick and tired of not being able to afford going places. Especially with all the cool festivals that were going on this summer (I really wanted to go to Beautiful Days again)! I'm sure in this economic climate, some of you have had the same problem. Or maybe you couldn't go because of parents. Whatever the problem was, I have a little solution...
RESI FEST 09!!!
If people are up for the idea, then I will create a separate forum purely for this festival. This forum would run primarily along one weekend (if I find that I can open and close forums, I could run it on specific dates), where people can play games and mingle and have a generally fun old Resi time.
What's so different about that forum if you're just playing games and mingling? We do that on here already, I hear you say.
Well, I have had some little twists - along with the forum games there will be a special forum for online gaming invites, where people can set up threads with invites for games at specific times (e.g. "Left 4 Dead tonight at 8pm, who's in?"), and also a forum for a special time attack challenge where users can play any Resi game they want, and doing it within specific time periods gets them medals (which they can use on their sigs).
The idea is that anyone can join in, and some people would have different ideas for their festival weekend - some may just come to the forum to join in discussions, some may come online to have a go at time attacks (bring your TVs near the computer or something?) and some may have full on Resi parties with a few friends to try each other with time attacks and check out all the Resi stuff on the RESI FEST forum.
Prior to the event, I will upload print-and-cut-out Resi stuff for your Resi nights, whether it's with friends or on your own - bunting designs, signs, badges, masks and more
There would also be a general discussion forum, music forum (for people's ideas of playlists, what they're listening to now etc) and a photo forum of your Resi nights.
The great thing about this fest is that it's free and you can join in at any time whilst not having to take time off work
If this goes ahead, it will take place from Friday 21st August to Monday 24th August, 2009.
