How cool is this?! I just found out that Romero (the zombie directing king, creator of classics such as Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead) made Biohazard 2/Resident Evil 2 adverts!

On September 30, 1997 he directed a Japanese market TV commercial for Capcom's Biohazard 2 (1998) (VG) starring Brad Renfro as Leon S. Kennedy and Adrienne Frantz as Claire Redfield while Booker Bradshaw did the voice over. Peter Deming served as cinematographer while special make-up artist Screaming Mad George was responsible for creating the zombies. The commercial was produced through Tokyo Production company Taiyo Kikaku and the advertising agency was Asatsu Inc. (now Asatsu-DK).

EDIT: I just found out that the guy who played Leon in those ads died!

Actor Brad Renfro portrayed Leon S. Kennedy in a series of Japanese Biohazard 2 ads directed by George Romero at only 16 years old. In December 2005, he was arrested by LAPD officers during an undercover drug sweep of downtown's skid row and was charged with attempted possession of heroin. Renfro was found dead on January 15, 2008 in his Los Angeles apartment. On February 8, 2008, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office ruled that Renfro's death was accidental, attributing it to acute heroin/morphine intoxication.

That guy made his film debut in 1994's The Client, as one of the leading roles.
