As everyone should know by now, PSN has been down since April 20th cause of the hackers :(
And I was looking forward to playing Mortal Kombat & Portal 2 co-op online. Oh well.

It was announced today that Sony expects to have PSN fully restored by the end of the month. So yea that's a bit longer than everyone was expecting, so lets hope there are no more delays & that Sony really improve their security system so that PSN doesn't get hacked again.

woooooooooow so glad i'm on xbox.
although it doesn't really matter, there are plenty of things you can do while psn is down.
plus it's not the end of the world.

I read they'll offer some online content and a free mounth of "plus" contents. My management teacher said Sony is good at keeping the clients satisfied (for example, they lowered the PS3 capabilities when they lowered it's price... unlike iPhone, for example, which made people who had bought it to be mad at Apple).
And I prefer that they take a bit longer at restoring it but make a good job.

Yeah I Think They Are Giving Away Like Two Games Out Of A List Of Five To PS3 Users And For PSP Users It's Two Out Of Four In Addition To I Think One Free Month Of PSN.

I don't have the link anymore but Sony shot down the rumor of may 31st, it can may as well go on to June BUT they also said they're trying to get it up in the "next few days". If not up this weeks then boys... sit back and have a smoke.

Oh dear. I wanted to play some KZ3 online. I bought the game right when it came out, but with the crappy network at school I haven't ben able to play online. Now I'm home for the summer and this is still going on. :( Oh well. At least I have MLB 11 The Show!!! :D

As of two days ago, no official deadline for restoration is apparent. According to official Sony bods, the whole "end of the month" date was never meant to be taken as Gospel. The spokesman responsible for telling press that there was a set date did not have Sony's backing and they have since denied such a timeframe was ever in place.

PlayStation Official Blog - that's where it's at if you want to keep up to date. The people in charge are posting all news there first so if you hear it from another source, it's likely to be unsubstantiated.

On a slight side-note, the UK retailers have just reported a huge increase in people swapping their PS3's for 360's... ooh er...

by this point if i was a ps3 owner, i probably would have stopped guessing and gone on with my business as normal, since it has reached a point now where there taking so long, whether it be for the right reasons or not, that when it happens it happens so to speak.
obviously easier said than done, just my input that's all.

Some of PSN was restored yesterday. So now we can @ least play games online again :)

PS Store isn't back up yet tho.

I'm glad psn is back up, my online play addiction was starting to effect me, in that i would wake up in the middle of the night and try to sign in the network and fall back asleep. I dont know what that was all about but my family isnt worried about me anymore now that its back online. I'm hoping the benefits for plus and non-plus members arent the same for obvious reasons, but its no big deal either way. I thought it was funny to read everyone clamming on about how long it took and how they 'should be compensated' for a free service. lol And some of them still arent even satisfied that its back up and they get free stuff for 'waiting patiently'. I thought about posting statistics of children and adults 10-20 in other countries fighting to survive each day, scavenging for scraps of food, dealing with diseases and outbreak, etc. But i knew it would be a lost cause.

Wasn't the compensation more about the fact that all our personal information - including quite possibly credit card information has now been compromised - failure to protect confidential info and all that jazz?

I dunno, that's what I was more ****ed off about. But I'm not a hardcore gamer so I barely noticed online gaming being down.

Yea that was the reason but the ones i was referring to were complaining that the free plus and two free games werent enough "for being down for so long". Not protecting confidential info wasnt part of the argument. No doubt Sony wants to regain our trust so i'm itching to get in that free protection service their talking about. I already had to deal with fraudulent charges on my account 2 months ago.

The other day I was in gamestop and I seen a sign that read, trade in your ps3 for xbox 360 LOL.

It's gonna be tough for sony with stuff like that happening.
