With the slew of new members we've received on account of ORC finally being released and RE 6 being underway, there are a few problems I'd like to the nick in the butt now. Note that I'm not referring to any one person in particular, but the community as a whole.
1. Backseat moderating
I know that some people are trying to show that they're responsible and reasonable enough to be a mod, I get it, but you're often doing more bad than good by trying to do our jobs for us. Not to mention its just super annoying in general. I know it's hard to believe, but we're all human and there are things we miss. If you feel something needs our attention, instead of yelling at other members for acting in ways you don't approve of, bring it to our attention and let us handle it (or decide if it even needs intervention). tl dr - I don't need you telling me when to lock a thread, kthnxbai.
2. Off-topic posts:
We have never been particularly anal about people getting off-topic and we try to encourage the natural flow of a conversation. However, the flow of discussion should not go so far as to have absolutely nothing to do with the original subject. I don't mind you talking about oranges in a thread about apples. I do mind you talking about cows. It should be similar enough whereas people can still feel comfortable about writing a response to the original subject.
