Misconceptions/fears you had as a child?

Harry Sachz

Ancient Alien
I used to think ground beef was beef that grew from the ground.

I used to think the black jelly beans were shelled black bugs.

I used to fear car washes, because I thought the brushes would break through the windows.

Just a few to get this thread started.

I used to think the sound of the ice machine in the freezer was actually a monster that was gonna come out and get me. I thought if I swallowed fruit seeds of any kind, that the fruit would end up growing inside my belly LOL. I always slept with the blanket up to my neck because I thought it would keep the vampires away :P

There's probably more, but I can't think of them right now. I'm in a bit of a rush haha.

One time when I was 3 my brother told me of this guy called the "Weenie Snatcher", and he'd always say he'd call the Weenie Snatcher unless I did stuff for him. I hope its self explanatory of what he did.

Oh, those pesky little weeny snatchers.

Oh, when I was younger I could never walk infront of a mirror at night, because I thought Bloody Mary would come out and scratch my face.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head for me, but I tricked my sister when we were really little. She was scared of the dark and our mom had a hard time getting her to go to bed. One night when she was finally settled in bed and our mom left I said "Scary in the hallway" in the creepiest voice possible. My sister freaked out and ran out of the room.

I was actually afraid of quite alot of things as a child as I grew up though I virtually lost fear of everything through learning and understand. The BIGGEST things that scared me.

1. The beach, or should I say the ocean, when i was like 5 I saw some dumb cartoon or something of the water from the beach dragging people as they fell off the "edge of the world" (some lame-world is flat cartoon). whenever we went to the beach I stayed in the sand till my parents dragged me in there, loved the beach ever since.

2. Insanely scared of the dark. It started when I was a kid and thought I saw a ghost. For the longest while i was scared, then i stopped caring around 11 or so, around 12 -13 i became interested in the paranormal and Now i actually hope i could see a ghost again one day, just to make sure it wasn't just some over imaginative mind of a child.
