For leon stick to his pistol itll kill everything in about two hits. For the larger groups and boss's use the shotgun and grenades.
Just practise. Learn where the extra time things are.
For the waterworld level, save all grenades for the Super Salvadors (there are only two, so you can do what you want after you've killed them both).
Also, the kill count is the most important thing in the world. DO NOT BREAK THAT CHAIN.

For Ada
1) Drop that usless scope (giving you a little more room in bag)
2) use punisher on small mobs, rifle on mobs that line up and bosses, TMP out of control mobs
3) Save grenades only use for quiqk escapes or for killing HUGE mobs
4) whe you can find rooms with no 2nd entrance and a wooden door blast 1 hole threw the door get rifle out and take out anyone who gets close (only after you hit the 6k points or when you are low on health)

1) use handgun 99% of the time 2shots kill most everything
2) Headshots!

4) Handgun ammo is more important than shotgun
