Resident Evil 7 Item gone after save

Just started the game and I noticed that when I loaded a saved game, some item i know i had found are gone from my inventory like the lockpick and some special keys. They are not in the case where i can put some item.

Am i missing something?

I had something similar happen. I was trying to get the achievement for stopping Marguerite in mid-air (which wasn't popping) and died in my many attempts to get it to work and I guess I had used some herbs, but you'd think your inventory would reset after a restart but for some reason my herbs stayed decreased. Never experienced anything as drastic as that though. Like Spikey said, perhaps you didn't save so maybe you should check around and see if you can aquire any of those items again or load up the auto-save.
