Revelations 1 Is Revelations better than Re6 ??

I am playing through Revelations currently and I already enjoy it more than 6. I love every game of the series for what it is, but I have to say 6 is my least favorite of the modern games. Raid mode is very enjoyable in Revelations as well.

raid mode is great on 2 player mode, unfortunatly there is no split screen for that, only online and system link.
i played it online a lot with my 3ds, but the problem for me is that i feel the need to talk to the people im playing with
im a very social guy and playing with someone you cannot communicate with is no different than playing with bot if you ask me,

it's abit 50/50, in some ways revelations is better, but it depends what way you look at it, in revelations it feels more old school and has a hint of survival horror, where was re6 is obviously attemting a new direction..didn't work for most, but im sure some enjoyed it

unfortunatly my pc is not strong enough to handle any of the new resident evil games
i think it can only handle up to resident evil 4 unfortunatly

Jill's Valentine
It's got Jill. It's got Chris. It's got the MP5 and the M92F. Those are good.

It's got a guy named Raymond who can poke your eye out with his chin and it's got some chick named Jessica who is missing a leg on her skin tight diver suit. These are bad.

It's a win/lose, but JILL *_*

Resident evil 6 is way better than Revelations, there are no zombies, only sea Sh**s called Ooze. You'll be whole time on freaking SHIP
I think i would like it your character is isolated on a ship and the gameplay is more focused on puzzle solving instead of kung fu combat of RE6.

but the ship was such a boring setting, and the puzzles where crap
then again re6 didnt have a lot of good traditional stuff except for in the first few leon/helena levels

Yes Revelations is WAY better than RE6.

Revelations is an "Action Horror" rather than just generic action like RE5 & 6, Revelations manages to be a good horror game even though it has co-op, which surprised me since I f**king loathe co-op in my Resident Evil games.

While not having any zombies, I'll take Oozes over another game filled with generic ganado/majini/j'avo any day. Also instead of being a generic linear adrenaline pumped roller-coaster ride like RE6, Revelations is more slow and requires exploration, search the area to find the key items and solve puzzles while surviving against a deadly threat just like Resident Evil is meant to be, any fan would say that gunning from point A to point B with loads of guns is NOT Resident Evil.

Revelations is the direction that RE7 needs to follow and improve upon.

EDIT: People seem to be complaining that you're only on a ship in Revelations, when that's the point of Resident Evil, cut off from others in a isolated location, with limited supplies against a horrifying enemy and you need to survive.

thanks for your analyze wesker
i do not agree 100 percent
the ship was isolated, fair enough, but it was also boring and every room was identical to eachother
what i enjoyed about the classic games was that every room was unique and detailed
that areas in those games was alive and pretty much a character of its own
revelations is just four walls and a roof over and over again
i did have fun when i played revelations the first time, about the first half of the game or so
then it became more of an underwater boss fighting action porno than survival horror

i dont think a single resident evil since re4 was worth playing more than 1 or 2 times
now the series is just as dead as the zombies in it, oh right there are no zombies anymore
by now i have accepted that it wont be great anymore, i will still play re7 1 or 2 times of course
but im not expecting any more masterpieces of the series, those days are long gone
the future of true resident evil lies in the hands of the fans who create fangames such as 1.5 but also some other cool mods

Revelations isn't perfect, it is however the direction RE should be going and it is better than RE6.

Resident Evil will never be great again yes, Capcom has ruined it forever and I also have no faith left in the series, I'll likely rent RE7, see what happens and then be done with it. Capcom has 2-3 years left before they crash and burn at best.

The Evil Within will be the new Resident Evil.

I agree with Weskerondope, it's just too much of the same location in Revelations. In the old REs except Code Veronica, I collected the maps just for the sake of completion, but I never actually needed to look at them because every room, even every corridor was so unique that I always knew where I was. In Revelations, I only got to that point after playing Rape Mode a lot, but the campaign was the first thing I played and more often than not I felt completely lost. Even when I knew where I was supposed to go, I had no idea how to get there, it's the only RE game that made me open the map a lot, just to close it again right away because I couldn't (and still can't) handle that stupid confusing 3D display.

Also, the old REs, while taking place in (relatively) isolated settings, still offer a lot of variety. In 1, we have not only the mansion, but the guard house too, which is also a residential location, but still looks completely different. Then there's the underground passage and the laboratory. In 2, we make our way through the city and spend a lot of time at the RPD, but not too much until we continue through the sewers to the final laboratory. 3 lets us explore several parts of the town and the buildings in them. For comparison: Revelations has three ships and three other locations (the beach, the snowy mountain and Terragrigia), which doesn't sound too bad other than that at least two of the ships are identical, but we only get to spend so little time in the other places that I wonder why they even bothered to build them; they should have used their energy to make the ship(s) a little more interesting instead.

So in the end, Revelations offers more of the good old classic atmosphere, but at the same time it doesn't, and my immense dislike for ships and other water-based locations only makes it worse for me. RE6 might be an action game without any of the survival elements, but at least it's fun, while Revelations might be great at first, but gets boring after two playthroughs at most. (And it's not really survival horror either; except on the highest difficulty, I always had more than enough ammo and herbs, so I really don't know what others mean when they talk about having to get along with limited resources. The only thing that's limited here is the fun.)

It really just comes down to opinion on the ships, cause IMO the ships were great, I liked them a lot, but yeah Revelations isn't better or even as good as RE1, 2, 3, CVX, REmake or even RE4, but it is better than RE5, 6 and ORC and it's the closest we have to an actual Resident Evil game in this day and age.

RE6 is fun for people who just want Micheal Bay action and admittedly I had fun with the game on some parts, but it still sucks and it doesn't change that it just wasn't a Resident Evil game, a bad story alone doesn't grant the Resident Evil title, Resident Evil is fact a horror franchise, it can be survival horror or action horror, but it can't be just an action game or just a survival game, the horror is the franchises identity.

It depends on how you define "horror". RE6 has zombies, ugly monsters and mutations, one-hit-kills, stalkers that just won't die, jump scares, dark and abandoned places, insane villains, violence etc, all the things that made the classics scary, plus a little more action. So at the end of the day, RE6 is a horror game according to my definition. The only problem is that for some reason it still isn't scary, and I'm not sure if that's really because of the gameplay and partner system or because we're just used to these things by now. Revelations is more similar to the classics, yet it doesn't scare me either. People say 4 is the scariest of the newer REs, but the only thing that scares me about it is the PC controls. So yeah... Maybe people would have reacted differently if 6 had been the first RE, but we'll never know.

No thanks, I despise alcohol, but I will still gladly accept the praise for the comment of the week.

I define horror or a horror game as a game that scares you or at least tries to scare you, has a creepy & tense atmosphere, a sense of helplessness, etc.

RE6 is filled with explosions, gunfights, flashy things etc, you're platoons of soldiers, government agents and mercs in a WAR.

RE6 has zombies, ugly monsters and mutations, one-hit-kills, stalkers that just won't die, jump scares, dark and abandoned places, insane villains, violence etc
So does loads of action games, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War, Dead Rising, Last of Us even my favourite franchise Duke Nukem has those things. They're not horror games at all they're action games.
Doom 3 is a good example of how you can mix horror with action, sure it was more of an action game, but it was dark, creepy, you're all alone with monsters creeping around and sneaking up on you, sudden load noises, lights going out etc, it was scary even though you were armed to the teeth in firepower.
RE6 & RE5 had no horror what so ever.
I don't know where you got jump scares from in RE6, those parts in the start of Leon's campaign are not jump scares, they were just desperate attempts at jump scares, NO ONE jumped at them.

The Evil Within is 100% a horror game for sure, it's creepy, it's scary, it's dark, you're all alone, there's shocking and tense moments, just like Outlast and even the upcoming Alien Isolation.
They are what I consider horror games.

I'm actually surprised that I'm gonna say this, but I think Resident Evil 6 is the better game. I've spent an immense amount of time with both games and what it boils down to is execution.

Resident Evil: Revelations is a poor man's survival horror game. The elements are there but lack in comparison to earlier entries. The gameplay is fast-paced, the action and environments are bland, and the puzzles and exploration are laughable. I appreciate the throwbacks to classic Resident Evil and I would love to see similar games expanded on and improved upon in the future, but it's hardly an experience rivaling that of REmake.

Resident Evil 6 on the other hand isn't trying to be like the older games. Sure, it has its flaws and can be downright stupid at times, but it's undeniably great co-op fun. The action is non-stop and that's the point. It delivers a Hollywood experience and for what it's worth, offers a better atmosphere. Seriously, shadows look amazing, the music blends in with the background, and the overall attention to detail is superb.

In all honesty, it's an unfair comparison. Revelations had much more limited potential being developed for a handheld. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 6 was on consoles that could easily fulfill its ambition.
