I rented Resident Evil: Survivor back when it came out and played it right the way through to completion the same time - I loved it. I picked it up again used via eBay a few back but haven't really touched it since renting it... methinks it might be time to give it another whirl.

I'll give it a recommendation based primarily on nostalgia.

I have to disagree on resident evil 5 being survival horror. It's more horror action then survival.

And I find the interactions between Bruce and Fong Ling seem like the interactions between Leon and Ada.

Lol I get it because Leon and Bruce are cocky American agents and Ada and Fong are secretive Chinese spies. I often find myself wondering if Resident Evil 4 stole that concept from Dead Aim.

Survivor is just a short and fun game. Not a masterpiece or anything. They even have the same enemy models as Resident Evil 2. It really give us a hint that Survivor is just a game for making easy money.

Dead Aim is the better game. It's not a masterpiece like Rebirth, but it's a fun game with a great soundtrack.

I find both games terrible to be frank. Their gameplay is horrendous, their art direction is catastrophic (Main Award of Visual Mediocrity to Survivor, I'd say) and their story and characters are terrible.

Survivor is completely empty narration-wise and Dead Aim features a pseudo-Sephiroth somehow turning into a female electric Tyrant.

Terrible experiences.

Survivor should be looked at only for the fun of the experience. With it's branching paths and different findable weapons coupled with the short time frame, it is super fun. But don't go looking for a deep experience other than that.

The Hypnos Tyrant at the end is actually one of the better Tyrant designs and super creepy in both of its forms.
