Revelations 1 Ghost Ship Duo Genocide Tips

Hi everyone.

After numerous attempts, Spikey and I have finally managed to get the Genocide Bonus on Ghost Ship in Duo Mode. We searched the internet several times to see if this was in fact possible, and thought that it wasn't, as there was no mention online of anyone ever having done it before. Since we achieved this, we decided to create this thread.

To get the Genocide bonus, 316 kills must be made. Spikey and I managed this in a time of around 55 minutes, gaining 200,000 BP for the Genocide Bonus, and around 380,000 BP overall. Our weapons, with parts attached, were as follows:

Jen's Weapons (Lvl 50, Playing As Jessica):

Machine Gun MP5 (Lvl 50)
Load Capacity +100%
Damage +20%
Firing Rate +60%
Grenade Launcher

Pale Rider (Lvl 50)
Firing Rate +60%
Charge Shot 4
Damage +25%

Rifle PSG1 (Lvl 50)
Gluttony
Auto Loader
Full Burst

Spikey's Weapons (Lvl 50, Playing As Parker):

Drake (Lvl 50)
Damage +20%
Cornucopia 2
Load Capacity +90%
Stopping Power +300%
Close Hit +45%

Pale Rider (Lvl 50)
Damage +20%
Charge Shot 4
Load Capacity +100%

Machine Gun MP5 (Lvl 46)
Damage +20%
Firing Rate +60%
Load Capacity +100%
Cornucopia 1
Distance Hit +45%
Stopping Power +300%

Our route was: Crew Quarters Area 1, Flood Area, Casino, backtrack to Bilge (for key only), Laboratory, Emergency Passageway, Lift in Deck to Bridge (grab the key in the safe!), Upper Cabins, Lower Cabins, Cafeteria, Solarium, Observation Deck, Promenade Deck, Deck, Final Fight.

Odd tips and tricks:

After taking the lift in the Laboratory, there is a tunnel where several exploding Ooze will spawn at once. If you kill one of these and it causes a chain reaction killing another one, you will not get the kill for the second Ooze. The way we did it was to use the Grenade Launcher custom part. At the time, I used Shock Grenades with this, but we think that using Hand Grenades would actually be a less risky strategy.

If you feel confident enough, splitting up makes the run go much faster. There were two main areas that Spikey and I split up on. With the first, I cleared the Casino while Spikey went for the key in the Bilge, and we met up near the Emergency Passage. With the second, I cleared the Upper Cabins while Spikey cleared the Lower Cabins, and we met in the Cafeteria.

Watching each others' backs is essential. There have been times when Spikey and I have been in danger of dying, and the other has helped out. Dying would mean that all your hard work would be ruined, and as this is a time consuming run, this isn't desirable.

If anyone has ever managed to get the Genocide Bonus before in Duo, or if anyone has any other tips to add, post them below! There are more tips from Spikey and me, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. :p

Thanks! :)

There's a couple of spots where it's easy to get swarmed. This is where the drake helps out.
The area in the labs just before you enter the lift to the explodey ooze is the first. The second is the bridge and the third is the promenade. The drake with the attachments I had on causes good Knockback which knocks most ooze on their backs. (Except scagdeads, drazzilos and Norman)

Before you leave a room make sure you have killed everything as there was a point where we almost missed an ooze somewhere in the emergency passage. Sometimes ooze continue spawning even after you grabbed a key from the area.

You should make caution when fighting:
Scagdeads - in particular the small fast ones
Drazzilos - in particular the giant ones because of their damage and the small ones because of the speed
Scarglimones - high damage ones can cause a problem if they stun lock you when the top half of their body is gone
Hunters - we don't usually have a problem with hunters but I recently found out the high level ones can still insta kill you. Ouch
Norman - only his charge attack can do enough damage to kill you if your not at full health

Playing this with Jen is awesome. She started with me when I was lvl 38 on Chasm, now I'm lvl 50 splitting up on ghost ship attempts xD

Haha, aww, playing with you is awesome too Spikey. :)

I think something that also helped us was the fact that Spikey and I could message each other if we had a problem. We'd use the 'Stop' command three times to let the other person know if we wanted to send a message. Of course, this isn't an absolute must, but over the times we've played, we've got used to each others' playing styles, and basically just got very much in sync with each other, meaning that we created our own strategies. As I said before, this isn't totally necessary, but it does help!

The Rifle PSG1, attached with the custom parts that I had, turns it into a fully automatic rapid-fire gun. It's kind of like a Machine Gun, but with more power. This weapon is extremely useful for Skagdeads, as it can wipe them out pretty fast. Be warned, though, that the Gluttony custom part will eat your ammo, so if you're gonna use it, try and be accurate. :)

You should also note that backtracking to the bildge probably isn't completely nessasary since we backtrack from the casino with a key anyway. There is no monsters in the bildge except for sea creepers but you can't kill these and they don't count towards the genocide anyway.

Edit:
The only place you can kill sea creepers is in the emergency passage in the shallow water, these ones must be killed.
