Resident Evil (1996) First tyrant fight with only the knife

Hey, ive got to the first tyrant fight and i only have a knife, i got the barry's family taken hostage scenario, how do i escape the tyrant? I really dont want to fight him with the knife

Load a save game before Tyrant fight, run all the way back to the mansion, grab the Bazooka off Forrest corpse, return and fight Tyrant with the Bazooka?

I assume you are are/were attempting a knife only run, no?
