...Dude...How is Mark Whalberg NOT one of the greatest...Unlike Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger he can ACTUALLY act...He can do MORE than your generic blow-em-up action roles...Don't get me wrong...Stallone and Schwarzenegger are good at what they do...But let's face it...They could never pull off a major drama...Wahlberg can...I've seen it...As can WillisPLEASE Tell me you didnt just say Mark Wahlberg is one of the best action heroes on the planet!!!!

Mark is too boyish in his looks....it's why when you talk about action star we're talking about a specific breed of animal here.
Action stars are smoldering bad-asses...they are brutish in their ways and deadly in their deeds.They bow to no man, they know only to destroy, destroy and destroy again, and again, and again.
There are Film stars and Action stars.
Your film stars are your wahlbergs and Tom cruises. Guys who have been in action films but aren't action men. The mission impossible films are some of my faves, but never in a month of sunday's is Cruise an action star.
Teenage girls like wahlberg and cruise,
Women like your Lundgrens and stathams
Pretty boys in action films are very different to rugged men kicking ass.

Walk into your bar and ask for a table,to which you've none left, you apologize and give them pouted lips and shoulder shrug kinda expression as if to say, maybe next time....
next again night, full house and
these guys walk in.....should they need to even ask for a table, and should you not have had everyone cleared out of your joint before they have their jackets off, you deserve to be hung from the sign outside your own bar.

I just have to disagree my friend lol...I mean...The Cruise thing I can agree with...I just don't think Mark Whalberg belongs in the category with him...I don't think he belongs in the category with Schwarzenegger and Stallone either, but that's because times have changed...Action movies today aren't what they once were...But when I sit down and watch Shooter, The Italian Job, Contraband, or Max Payne it really gives me the vibe that Demolition Man, Die Hard, and Escape from New York gave me...Mark is too boyish in his looks....it's why when you talk about action star we're talking about a specific breed of animal here.

I also don't think Bruce Willis belongs in the category with Lundgren and Stallone...He's too good of an actor, and when I see Bruce Willis, even though the immediate role that comes to mind is John McClain (Because the Die Hard series is one of my all time favorites) I also think of The Sixth Sense...Face it...Stallone could not pull that off...He can't pull off heavy dramatic work...Not very well at least...Bruce Willis may be an action star, but he's a different breed...
The movies today have different action stars...And if I had to make a list of today's greatest action stars, with movies that remind me of "The Golden Age" it would be actors like Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nick Cage (Although I hate to admit it), Will Smith (Because even though he's one of the worlds greatest actors, his action roles ALWAYS come to peoples mind first, and also...We need a black guy in here lol), and Robert Downy Jr, who granted, has been an actor for years, but is now really getting into action roles...These are today's action stars, and with the change in cinema, it works just fine...
