If you like the old school REs you should definitely check the first one.

First part is very, very similar to old Resident Evil games. And it's good, at last, this games were maded by Capcom too (in RE3 one of "hidden" costumes for Jill is "Regina's outfit"

Second part, is more action game, than survival horror, you know, point, upgrade weapons etc., but it's still good game, and worth to play in.
I didn't play in third part, so I cannot say anything about.

Yes I beat RE4 last year. I did it about three times. Say two and a half or three and a half.

Playing parts of the game is what I mean with half. Either loading a save mid-game and play to the end, or playing the early parts of the game.
