Hello fellow Resi fans!
This is my first post, and I’m delighted its one in which I can offer you all something for you to really sink your teeth into! (Zombie pun intended
) I am an independent filmmaker and I specialise in making fan films for YouTube, most notably Left 4 Dead and Slender Man, which you can check out on my channel – Mark Scammell. I am a HUGE fan of the Resident Evil games since I played the first one on a friends Playstation way back in the 90s when I was a kid. The main attraction to me was the survival horror aspect, and I loved the fixed camera style which made the interaction scenes with zombies that more intense (and awkward lol).
For my short film I really wanted to recapture that sense of dread when you were playing the games, and I’ve tried to establish that through the fixed camera style in places and video game style pauses to create suspenseful moments when the characters take on the zombies. Something I felt was missed in the movies which tended to be more action orientated. I really hope you enjoy this because if it gets the views I want I will be creating a series this year which I have already written which will be establishing the build up to the outbreak in Raccoon City (as my own interpretation).
