Are Claire and Moira maybe dead....
So, tonight I went into a weird nostalgia trip and decided to look into older RE stories and ended up reading about Code Veronica. Although this remains my favorite entry of the series thus far, I barely remeber the details of its amazing plot. One major detail did resurfaced during my wiki reads: Alfred and Alexia Ashford were actually generated using viruses to be almost perfect clones to Veronica Ashford, family old ancestor.
Clones were also a major plot point on RE6 where Carla Radames caused a heck of a havoc in the name of Ada Wong, cloned by Derek Simmons (Technically, Carla was reborn as Ada but she is a clone all the same).
While watching the preview for episode 3 something amazing hit me: What if all this time we are playing as Claire and Moira's clones? This would explain why Natalia is clearly sure that Moira is dead, her clone actually died. Claire and Moira run into several stones that greatly ressemble tombstones inside the overseer's tower in episode 3, which could be where their real bodies are stored (or perhabs the reals ones are dead and buried in there but I find it hard to believe).
I'm still working on this theory, but it is food for though my friends. What do you guys think? Could we be playing with our heroes' clones all along?
