As I was saying, I watched alot of videos of Resident Evil 4 and I noticed that when you get a headshot, their heads really pops...but then when I do they head stays even when I hear the "crack"

Depends where you're aiming.
If you aim smack dab in the middle, there's a chance.

However, it is mainly down to the gun. (Military lecture coming :P) The handgun you start off with is a 9mm round, very small and very little power.

The Handcannon, uses a .50 calibre round which is good enough to penetrate anything from miles away. And, because it is a very large round, it would esaily 'pop' the enemies head.

Hope that kind of helps :)

lol, well, I tried the Handcannon on te villagers, and the snper but still =.= maybe it's because my version of RE4 is Japanese

Dang~~~
But then I thought the American version was supposed to lower the gore...since they did in Monster Hunter...well I guess I'll have to get Resident Evil 5 in English then!!! Thanks

I own the PAL copy of the game, being english myself lol..
and head popping is quite common.
with the rifle, its 100% as long as you can actually aim.
im currently playing thro it again, and a the point my shotty is about 3/4 tuned, and at close range heah popping is like 85-90%.
with the broken butterly, fully tuned, its almost 100%.

so as you can see from the small list of examples, the PAL copy must have the most gore, as if you have the japanese copy and no matter what you cant pop heads, there is a definate sensor..
altho on the bright side, some heads you pop, they dont die, the parasite starts to come out, and then you have to kill that.

It's sad sometimes...
(head popping sound)
Me:Yes!!!the head finally blew up!!!
(parasite crawling out)
Me: oh....False Alarm~~~

I got the American copy a week before it come out in England, And i got the FreeLoader with it. GAMECUBE!!!

At the time I lent the game to my mate an he completed it before it came out. then gave it back to me when it came out haha.

Funny enough i wasnt botherd either.

But the head poping.. I always thought it sounded like youd dropped something on the floor an it scatterd everywhere. wasnt a gory blooded sound effect if you ask me. but i still liked it lol.

Oh, yeah, that would explain it!
The Japanese version lowered the amount of gore, so, no head popping sadly!

Year late edit lol.

I have the same PAL version as Aintnoscrub, and head poppings occur all the time.
Funny though, how heads with a helmet cannot pop.
And some heads that pops does not pop clean off, they hang down on the Zealot's back. (Or maybe they do that on all ganados, I have not played the game in many months.)
