Outbreak 1 Anyone else notice the similarities with characters of the main games?

I've noticed many times that the 8 heroes of Resident Evil Outbreak share many traits with the heroes of the main games. For example:

Kevin: Shares traits of Chris and Leon being an energetic young police officer and experienced marksman.

Mark: Shares traits with Barry being a dedicated family man and a tough old cop with some humurous dialog.

Jim: Shares some traits with Brad being openly cowardly in the face of danger.

David: Shares some traits with Billy being an ex-convict trying to escape his past.

George: Kinda shares some similarities with Birkin (George is a man of science but unlike Birkin he's not evil).

Alyssa: Shares some similarities with Jill (both are strong women who are good at shooting and skilled with lockpicks)

Cindy: Shares some similarities with Claire and Rebecca (Wears a ponytail and cares about helping people like Claire but also very knowledgeable about first aid like Rebecca)

Yoko: Shares some similarities with Ada and Sherry (being a mysterious and untrusting Asian woman like Ada but also being the youngest and most vulnerable character like Sherry).

Cindy also has similarities to Jill. They both play piano, are intelligent, can keep fairly calm, and a bonus, they've both been voiced by Michelle Ruff.

That is true. Also I always felt that Monica in Below Freezing Point was meant to allude to both Ada and Annette. She was a paranoid female researcher shooting at anyone who got in the way of the G virus (like Annette) and she was actually trying to steal the virus just like Ada was. The scene of her holding Yoko at gunpoint definitely alluded to the scene of Annette holding Ada at gunpoint.

Also File#2 revealed that Cindy had a thing for motorcycles just like Claire.

Edit: Also wasn't Yoko voiced by Alyson Court the same actress who voiced Claire? Yoko and Claire were both college students so I guess Yoko has a bit of Claire in her too.

Also Greg was kind of a combination of William Birkin and Albert Wesker. He was a rogue Umbrella researcher with blonde hair who was obsessed with his Tyrant B.O.W. and the Daylight and he was marked for assassination by Umbrella.
