There are a couple of recent occurrences here that I wanted to address, hopefully to avoid them in the future. I’ll make them relatively short and simple.
Edit: Please pay attention to that exception. Be mindful of how old a thread is before you bump it. Anything under a couple of months is fine, but there is no reason to bump an eight-month-old thread. Keep in mind that the membership is not what it was eight months ago, and you could be responding to people who are no longer here to defend themselves or respond to you. If a thread is over 3 months old, I would recommend making a new one.
Of course, if you have any questions or comments at all, please feel free to contact any one of the staff. Thanks a bunch!
KEEP PASSWORDS TO YOURSELF
Please don’t give your password out to anyone, ever. Try to make it at least a little bit difficult for people to guess. We have had two or three instances already where people have been banned for sending abusive private messages or posting pornography, and both have used the excuse that a third party had ‘hacked’ into their account. I’ll let it slide this once, but next time all you’re going to get from me is a ‘sorry about your luck, kiddo’. Blaming it on someone else will not be a good excuse anymore, so please make sure your passwords are secure, and if you’re on a public computer never select the ‘Remember Me’ tab and never keep yourself logged in once you leave.- - -
DON'T ASK TO BECOME A MODERATOR.
I’m uber serious; it’s written right there in the rules, so all it tells us is that you’ve never bothered to read them. When it comes time to take on a new moderator here, I’m sure we’ll have a nice discussion about who would be the best selection, and Steve or Angel will come to you and ask. Vice versa rarely works; trust me.DON'T ASK TO BECOME A MODERATOR.

GET PERMISSION BEFORE ADVERTISING FORUMS
Always get permission from Steve before advertising your forums, and make sure you let us know that you’ve received it. URLs in your signatures are okay, but if you want to make a thread about it, ask Steve first. Thanks.- - -
UTILIZE THE 'SEARCH' BUTTON BEFORE MAKING NEW THREADS
Please do a quick search before making new threads. I don't know how many times I've had to repeat this. Duplicate threads are beginning to overwhelm the board, namely because some members rarely bother to look first. Of course, there are exceptions; if a thread hasn't been updated in several months, then feel free to make a new one.Edit: Please pay attention to that exception. IGNORE SPAMMERS
And lastly; some of y’all may have noticed that Strikesback5 had a brief stay here about a week ago. As I stressed before, please just ignore all his posts. Don’t even bother responding, because he’s just trying to push your buttons. Report him, and he’ll be gone as soon as possible.Of course, if you have any questions or comments at all, please feel free to contact any one of the staff. Thanks a bunch!
