Anyone else disgusted with Wesker's treatment in the movies?

He's the big bad of the series, The master manipulator, The Man who looks down on every other primary villain but yet he's a mere secondary goon to some Dr Isaacs guy lol what the hell were they thinking?

What happened to Wesker in the movies was a travesty and the biggest sin was in Retribution and the Final Chapter, Especially the Final chapter. I will say I did not see what happened to him coming, they treated him like garbage in order to make Issacks look good...gotta have that GOT POP when it was still hot! Even if it is Movie Wesker, he deserved much better.

Well I was rewatching the movie recently and wesker was good in extinction and the prologue of afterlife , but then the plot completely destroyed him, his plan his stupid and why the hell did he had a giant plaga in his mouth? Also he need fresh human DNA to contain his infection XD

In retribution he was ok since he also happear for brief moment and I liked the fact that he was going to momentarily Allie whit Alice and the other to fight the common foe... But guess what? retribution ending was completely skypped in the final chapter, I was expecting wesker Alice Jill ada and the other to fight side by side for their life in one last stand and after that Alice and wesker would have fought a last time since Alice say that he would have killed him after, but That didn't happened, the actors that played the other protagonists where not available so they changed the story and wesker was completely rendered stupid and uselles in the final chapter, you can clearly see that Paul ws Anderson rewrite the saga plot as he please, since wesker was originally the main villain and chairman of umbrella in the previous movies but you suddendly discover that it was Isaacs the real villain and chairman of umbrella and the one from exticition was a clone, mmm yeah sure...

There is not even a final fight with wesker in the final chapter, he die like an idiot and he dosent even use his power during the whole film for some reason

I understand that the other actors couldn't or didn't want to come back for the final chapter. (I don't blame them lol) but come on...wouldn't it have been too much for Wesker to be the final boss? They have been building this up since Extinction, and Alice didn't really have a proper fight with him and this would have been the perfect opportunity! But no...we have Jorah Mormont and his psycho clone while Wesker goes down like a domino effect, even though he has super powers! He is the Chairman!! The big cheese!! The guy we want to see, not some wimpy scientist that was killed a few movies ago!!

They just put isacss instead of wesker because of Iain Glen popularity in game of thrones i guess...

Yeah even if they didn't have the actor from retribution for the final chapter, anderson could have simply write wesker as the movie main villain, but having a got actor would have attracted more people to watch it...

Nor that I dislike Iain Glen or isaacs character, but wesker was the better and more sensible choice, but looking how orribile wesker was in the second part of afterlife maybe its better like this

Maybe so...but even still, making Issacs as the CEO of Umbrella still didn't make sense! He shouldn't have been the boss, Wesker is the boss! His clone could have been an underling and it wouldn't diminish his role, since Iain Glen is popular now. But hey, what do I know?

Not sure about Wesker's treatment in particular because I have no plans of ever watching the last movie, but from what I've seen of the rest of the franchise, I remember being disgusted with the treatment of all the characters from the games that appeared in the movies. Be it Jill, Claire, Chris, Leon or Ada, everyone only exists to play second fiddle (at best!) to Alice, so it really doesn't surprise me that the games' main villain too gets to play second fiddle to an unappealing new villain.

Yeah, I think only Carlos get a good treatment, he was even better of the Carlos game version...

The fact is that game character were simply taken right from the game and they even wear the same costume, and this is when the series start to go downhill, you can't simply put character whitout motivation just for fan service and that didn't work, wesker for example was better in exticiton and afterlife prologue but when re 5 came out they decide to change it to make him look like the game version and it was totally bad, didn't work in the movies

Thats why in my opinion the first movie and exticiton are the best because they have little association to the game and didn't try to put game part or character just for the sake of having them

Also it's ridicolous and weird that special effect such as wesker dodging bullet is better done in game than movies

You can't kill me.
I agree, Wesker, that the first movie was much better since it didn't try to be a game. I didn't care too much for extinction but it certainly wasn't the worst in the series (looking at Final Chapter).

I definitely think Wesker got shafted in the films. I liked the fight on the ship, it gave me goosebumps when I saw it. Other than that his character was very underwhelming and, in The Final Chapter's case, downright insulting. But, as this was a Paul Anderson series, it doesn't surprise me in the least. I would really like Wesker's character to be presented with integrity in remakes/reboots henceforth, be in the Netflix rehash or a movie reboot.

Another things that Is bugging me is this: in the final chapter it's revealed that wesker lured all the protagonist to Washington to kill them, but this simply make no sense since he was the one who sent Barry leon and the other to save Alice, he could have simply enstructed some umbrella officer to kill Alice when she was camptured and he could have also easy killed the other himself when he instructed them to go for Alice

Also wesker give Alice her power back because he needs Alice power to fight the Red queen, but if his real plan was to kill Alice why didn't he simply kill her right there instead of giving her superhuman power?

Final chapter make no sense, and you can clearly see that it was written whitout even taking retribution plot into account
