Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) Will Resident Evil 3 remake be majorly different from or similar to Resident Evil 2 remake?

Since they both take place in Raccoon City, how different will Jill's campaign be from Leon and Claire's? What changes to her surroundings? Will they bring back more monsters/will they add any new zombie types? Will the cameras and gameplay be the same? So many things that hopefully Capcom will address at some point in the near future, but what do you think?

I do not think it will be drastically different considering how well the RE2 REmake formula worked. I think it will most likely be similar to the transformation between the original RE2 and RE3.

The games were essentially the same from a gameplay and graphics standpoint, but RE3 had some unique innovations that made the game stand out: Retooling, Quick turn, Faster zombies, Nemesis Stalking, Decisions, etc.

I would be happy with that. I think this is a happy medium from where their last few generations of games have been. I don't want it to get stale, but let us enjoy the best of Capcom.

Id like to see a few new things added to re3;

RPD SWAT/Umbrella merc zombies (since both were overrun and killed in the video intro)
Injuries affect gameplay (blurry vision, ****ty aim, blood trails, immobility)
More screen time/interaction with Mikhail and Nicholai (Carlos will prob already have his share)

Just a few things personally for me

I said it before, but what i hope we'll see in RE 3 remake is more focus on horror than action, lot more locations and areas to explore in and around Raccoon City, all the original monsters, and anything new which will make the game even better, like maybe making the city lot more creepier by changing the look of it in second half of the game, after Carlos cures Jill and they have to escape through it days after infection started. I just hope we'll soon hear something official about it, i would hate to see Capcom mess this one up, specially after great job they did with RE 2 remake.

Pretty sure they'd never hear the end of it if it did

Serious question, have you perhaps played RE3 before?

Because the answer to this question isn't a simple "how different can it be since both are in Racoon City" since RE3 itself shows how vastly different the two are in their surroundings, really as far as areas and scenery goes the only thing the two had in common is the Racoon Police Department and even then that area was only a very small part of Jill's scenerio in Racoon City and she does not even get to explore anywhere near as much as Leon and Claire did since the bulk of her game is in the actual city itself. Pretty much RE2 is 10% Racoon City streets,70% RPD station, and 20% sewers and labs as far as areas goes while RE3 is the game that truly delved into the actual Racoon City itself whether it was Racoon City Hospital, City Hall, Racoon Park, Clock Tower, Bars, and many new alleyways and streets not featured in RE2 since RE2 was mostly centered on RPD station.

So in short with a RE3 remake you would get far less RPD station and a lot more of actual exploration of Racoon City as a whole.

As far as gameplay goes I would say they will most likely definitely keep the RE2 remake style of gameplay.

.

I have actually, I didnt mean to sound like a dummy. Obviously outside the RPD, its a whole different ball game. Thou I can only imagine it's gonna be much longer and have some of the old enemies returning (I hope) and please let Jill get both defensive weapons along with the dodge. I have a feeling both are gonna be lifesavers

They can change many things since re 3 take place in the street of raccon city while re 2 take place just inside the police station...

They could make it a bit more opened, whit a big map, but not as big as an open world, just 4 time bigger than Re 2 and put more secret in this map... Put more zombie that you have to dodge like horde of zombies and some survival gameplay but just a bit not too excessive, and than there is nemesis, it would bee like Mr x but he will fallow you into the entire city whit weapon like the rocket launcher, and you have to hide into building, like house, shop, restaurant and you can use object, in this building to knock him out for some times, you can also make trap to use against nemesis and other enemies...

They can also add some people around the city that you need to help, maybe you see real people that are hiding into house and you help them by defiting zombies in the area or by taking supplies like wather and food to them...

They can do many things whit re 3

From the sounds of it your suggesting a game akin to Evil Within 2 only with a RE3 spin on it, and to be honest I like it lol, would be great to have a pseudo open world horror oriented RE3 world that had side objectives in addition to the main story, Evil Within 2 showed us that true survival horror is definitely possible in a open setting so I believe that given Jill's scenerio takes place in the actual city streets it would make the more sense of her to get this gameplay element.

Please, no. Evil Within 2 sucked donkey balls, and part of that was because of the completely unnecessary open-world that felt unfinished and added nothing to the overall story. Generally, open-world is not a suitable concept for horror games since it takes away a lot of the scare factor if you let people roam freely and do optional side quests and so on... It makes the player feel relaxed and in control, which should be the opposite of what horror game developers want to achieve.

I don't think so...
Image a game that take place into the dark raccon city street whit zombie roaming it, but you have not enough ammo to kill them all and so you had to enter building to hide from zombies and nemesis, and find ammunition and healing item... Image something a la silent hill 2, a little more big...
I think it would be cool...
I think they can make a good open world horror but they had to use re 2 remake mechanism, but not to much open world

what ever they are going to build , i hope we don't miss nemesis presence and how on nerve it was ( specially in hard one that you are gonna love him:razz:) did you ever hibnk why so may doors in RE3 and in an Ally exists?the special of environment designing in Re3 , make you available to keep your distance with nemesis , it is true he will follow you and open the doors, but when you can not see the door any longer. it will help you to run away. yes run away screaming and your heart pumps blood in your veins. but you can run just before he gets you.
in 3D models , i dont think it is about not seeing door.so you cant keep your distance since nemesis is faster than jill and he is not Mr-stay cool- X and if he is not faster than you , then what?
hiding? this seems intresting...

That's not how open world works...
What you're describing is just a large level with exciting hiding mechanics, since the goal will be to get past the zombies to proceed with the storyline. Open world is when players are allowed take a break from the main story and do as they please, roam freely, take on side quests that has nothing to do with the main story, etc. It works for games like GTA and The Elder Scrolls, but not horror games. Silent Hill 2 did not feature open world. If you're looking for a Silent Hill game that featured open world and pointless side quests, look at Silent Hill Downpour - a piece of trash.

Infact i never say open world, I say bigger but not as big as an open world, I would say more like the last God of War... I think an horror game could work whit open world if implemented well...
You can only call the evil whitin 2 and dowpour trash or you can give some constructive criticism on why they weren't good for you?

I'd say the reviews and sales of The Evil Within 2 would argue with that. I quite enjoyed it, as did I think a lot of other people.
