So with the days counting down until the highly anticipated release of Resident Evil 2 what is everyone's final thoughts on everything we've seen so far?

Do you feel the game will stand the test of time along side the original 98 release?

What's your overall thoughts on Leon and Claire's character models?

How much replay value do you see the game having?

And lastly what expectations do you have for the Resident Evil Nemesis Remake?

All opinions welcome guys I'd love to hear them.....

i havent played the demo yet, im saving myself for friday when i get the disc, something i havent done with any re game since re5, allways played demos first
(revelations 2 probably didnt have a demo, but after re6 i lost interest, but i came back when re7 announced and downloaded a free copy of revelations 2 episode 1 before i bought the disc)

i doubt it will be good remake, seeing as they have very little respect for the original, most people who are excited about this is the people who hated the original resident evil 2 (and 1 and its remake aswell) so in my mind this will be resident evil 8, or something like that, looks like a very nice game, but its no more a remake or re2 than darkside chronicles was

i do kinda like the new outfits though, specially leons, claires is a little to alltered for my taste, but with the lack of fixed cameras that hardly seem like an issue

as for replay value it all depends how fun it is to play, but seeing as how we have 2 campaigns (rumored to even have A/B scenario) i think replay value seems like it will be good

my expectations for R3make is that it will be released in about 30 years, i expect it wont have anything to do with resident evil 3 whatsoever, and probably wont even be released on disc

@weskerondope That's a pretty narrow minded thought process on a game that's not even out yet and that you didn't play the demo for. Not to mention pretty judgey of the people who are excited for it. I loved the original Resident Evil games and played them, especially 2, probably a few hundred times but that doesn't stop me from being excited about the remake.

As for how respectful the game makers have been with it, I feel like they've been extremely respectful of this remake. Probably more respectful than those who created Resident Evil 4 and onwards of the main series. They seem to have tried very hard go get this right while updating the game to today's standards and, from what I've seen, they appear to have done a good job so far.

Lurking is my jam.
Honestly speaking think the game will be quite literally RE2 but modernized.
So it depends on how the industry as is will take to it.

Personally, It is quite interesting, I'd say this is one game that's both familiar and foreign at the same time and it's appealing. I remember RE2, but there are a lot of things that are added or re imagined that's for the most part, pretty nice. It's really kind to the source material as well. That's both great but might lead to the game having a few hiccups that might just plain suck. But here's hoping.
Overall though, it might hold up better than REmake does to the Original.

As for the models, while I can get used to Leon's model, Claire uh. I don't think I'll get used to that face at all, also never was a fan of the style of Alt costumes either so can't say any of the bonus costumes are to my taste but ah well.

Too early to tell for replay, but given that it has at least "The 4th Survivor" and Tofu, it stands to have quite a bit.

RE3Make?

Probably. I don't see why they wouldn't. To do so means they'll have more materials to work with in the future, higher res of all RE game locales, Nemesis, Raccoon City as a whole, Forgotten characters.

It'll probs be a while though. It would be nice to have it sooner than later though. If for nothing else of them being able to make new different ideas in the RE Engine.

I loved the original Resident Evil 2 and I am excited to play the new one on Friday,

As for the RE3 Nemesis remake I think Capcom will wait and see how well RE2 sells within the first few months if sales are high I suspect they will jump to start making Resident Evil Nemesis.

The Spirit of Rock 'n' Roll
I played up to...
...the alligator chase...
...and, so far, I couldn't be happier with it (and I've played the original versions more times than I can count). I especially liked certain things about Leon's opening that I'll keep quiet about for now.

This is awesome.

So I finished Claire's A scenario in a little over five hours and I loved it. Amazing upgrade from the original game and I can't wait to play the other scenarios!!

My fiance and I took a half a day off work so that I could go pick the game up when Best Buy opened and we could spend the day experiencing it together.

Aww that's so romantic wish I could do the same with my missus but she still hates me after the incident with Resident Evil 7,

Apparently making her play horror games ain't the way to go if you want a long and healthy relationship.

Yes I think he's a little more open to Resident Evil than your wife, lol. He loved obsessively watching gameplay with me for the past few weeks and he even said he'd try his own hand at playing it. I love that he's willing to try and share this with me as Resident Evil has been a huge part of why I love playing video games. I'm not a hardcore girl gamer by any means but I have loved this series for a long time and I was really excited that he seemed to be anticipating this just as much as me.

Maybe you should start your wife off a bit slower with one of the less scary games, maybe even one of the co-op titles like RE5 or 6. Ease her into how the series operates with something you guys can do together first.

Oh she's not my wife not yet anyways, I have asked many of times if she would be interested in giving the games a go but the awnser is always no,

I don't get her she can freely sit and watch a horror movie with sharks or crocodiles that devour humans yet when it comes to ghosts, demons, or zombies she turns into a scared 3 year old, Who knows maybe one day I'll get her to give the games a try,

Until then I'll just continue narrating her life like they do on big brother apart from in Morgan Freeman's voice.

Day 76: The girlfriend still refuses to play Resident Evil will the boyfriend ever get her to give into temptation stay tuned to find out............

Lurking is my jam.
Taking the game at my pace in chunks on a per day basis.

It's great fun, although some of the situations I find even on normal are sometimes outrageous imo. Walking into a hallway to get jumped by nothing less than 5 zombies at any given time + having your exit blocked by another zombie lest it's to the Main Hall is a bit ridiculous. If I wasn't able to get perfect accurate headshots, be quick about it or even come with a defensive weapon and healing I would be unable to even progress.

So one path is blocked by tons of zombies, I.E ammo wasters, the other one is blocked by a zombie and a licker which are obscenely overtuned in damage and health. The freaking first boss was 1000x times easier than a single licker.
4 shotgun shells to take down and 2 shot deaths? Yo what? This is what I expect from Hard mode, not normal.

But overall, a fun experience and it's a nice blast to the past + modernization of 20 years ago and that's nice.
Can't say I'm a fan of the dialogue writing though. The actual motions and body language is amazing, but the characters still sound just as awkward as they did back 20 years ago. Which is more amusing than anything in hindsight.

The games difficulty is monitored by how well or poor you are doing the better you do the more amp'ed up the difficulty gets as to the more times you die the game eases off you more,

Overall I'm in love with the game the creepy sounds as you explore makes it intense and also knowing Mr X is lurking the hallways of the police station,

Capcom have out done themselves with it I hope Nemesis get's this kind of treatment as well.

I believe I noticed. I had taken almost no hits and skitted around practically everything with minimum amount of bullets but to potentially die in 2 hits and being in a situation that's almost impossible to progress? I dunno if I'm okay with that. At least for a horror game.

Don't get me wrong, I love every aspect of this game, but having the game attempt to screw you over and force a death seems a bit too punishing for me. Especially the bullet sponge that are bosses. (relative to ammo count.)

It's a true survival horror game limited resources and ammo some people will struggle with the adaptive difficulty me I'll thrive on it I'm playing my first run on hardcore mode and already suffered a mauling to William Birkin but I learn where I messed up and overcome,

I'm sure you'll do the same if the game doesn't render you insane first of course.

My problem is I have to twiddle my thumbs and wait for RNG to help me rather, not because I don't know what I'm doing. Which kills momentum and I feel that's not good in games that limit resources of any kind.

And I'll hand you my RE gauntlet. I don't think I'd have the patience to deal with Hardcore where adaptive and base value buffs are out to get you.

I'm hard headed when it comes to adaptive difficulty so for me it's not really an issue,

I'm probably one of a select few who have platinum'ed all the Resident Evil titles from PS3 to PS4 and I intend to do so with RE2 although that trophy,

A Small Carbon Footprint
Take 14000 steps or fewer in one playthrough.

That's going to be a tough one but throw me a challenge and I'll accept.
