Revelations 2 Revelations 2 !!!

That's not much of a rumour
There's been possibly fake posters for both revelations 2 and Veronica.

All this article is basically saying is
"Capcom could be making a sequel in the future" with no evidence to back it up and references to the first games release date.

the same site had assassins creed 4 for ps4 on it months before it was announced and also an hour ago announced DMC ultimate edition on ps4 with the box and all !!! so its a good possibility if you ask me
 
A sequel to revelations seems very likely, however, it just came out two years ago, so I would imagine it would come out much later down the line.

Not necessarily. I seem to remember a number of developer interviews back when RE6 came out that said they wanted RE to become a bi-yearly series. This certainly fits in with those goals! That said, I'm still firmly in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp.

So that's what it says? Not surprising. I didn't even click the link after reading "rumour" in it, because I already imagined exactly that.

Since this will eventually become a "rumours and expectations" thread anyway: Even though the original Revelations isn't really my cup of tea, I wouldn't mind a sequel at all. Just a few hopes on my part:
* If the game once again stars Jill and Chris, please make them less dull than in Revelations 1.
* If the thing is actually going to be called "Revelations 2" (which I don't think, but who knows), continue the story that began in 1 instead of making a new one. BUT:
* No more ships, Genesis scanner, Quint and Keith and other forgettable one-off characters. Jessica may return as the villain for all I care.
* Keep Rape Mode.
* Allow move + shoot at the same time. After RE6, returning to tank controls comes across as just another desperate and awkward attempt to invoke the "classic" feel.
* Improve the controls in general.
* For the sake of extra costumes and modding, no pre-rendered cutscenes please. Oh, and while we're at it, I want to see that tight sailor outfit on Chris again, or something similarly sexy.

But there's actually no story to be continued. It's all been there and done. I don't see a reason to make a Revelations 2 again. Unless they have like...MAX great plot for it

...What do you mean there was no story to be continued. There was no story to continue after Resident Evil either. But they made Resident Evil 2 when they could've left well enough alone. As long as the story doesn't suck, it really doesn't have to RELATE to the original Revelations. I'm not saying that they NEED to make a sequel, I'm just saying your reasoning isn't really logical...

In story terms:

Jessica was working with tricell, but re5 had no mention of the T-Abyss nor any creatures like it.
Jessica wasn't seen or heard of in re5 or re6, so she's still possibly on the BSAA most wanted list like Ada.
unsure as to whether Raymond is on that list too since the whole secret double triple good-bad guy thing he had going on.
If be interested to see if her, Raymond and Ada belong to the same organisation.

God, I totally forgot. Your right. Of course xD There is still Jessica Sherawat after Raymond gave her T-Abyss virus. But still, I wouldn't like Re Revelations 2. I didn't even like the first one but I just have played it to complete my collection of Completed Resident Evil Series. I don't like the plots that involve Haunted Ships I also had to play Dead aim although i didn't like it at all. Like I said just to fill collection of all COMPLETED Resident Evil Series.
And I truly did forgot about Jessica Sherawatt But REALLY god what an ignominy!
 
Guess no one read my reply afterwards .... ???? This site had up assassins creed 4 for ps4 way before it was announced and right after the resident evil announcement they have up a DMC ULTINATE EDITION FOR PS4 /XBONE WITH A BOX ART AND EVERYTHING.... SOOOO MAYBE ITS VERY LIKELY THIS IS

Just because they put up assassins creed's release date before it was announced, that doesn't prove anything. I could go and put up a month that Fallout 4 would be coming out before anyone said anything. If it so happens that I got the release date right, then awesome. That still doesn't mean I knew the release date.

Just because the the first one involved a "Haunted Ship" (Which wasn't really "Haunted"), doesn't mean a sequel will. If that's your only real reason for not wanting a sequel, then I'm pretty confused. RE1 doesn't happen in the same place as RE2. RE2 doesn't happen in the same place as RE3. Ok, well...It dos for a VERY small portion, but about 85% of the game happens elsewhere. Point is, the location ALWAYS changes in each installment, and I highly doubt they would use a Ship for the Third time.
 
Capcom seems to have a thing for ships lately, much to my dismay, since I'm not a big fan of ships either, or water-based locations in general. RE4 and 5 had one, 6 has several, and Dead Aim, Revelations and that non-canon spin-off failure starring Leon and Barry are set mostly on ships. So I'm pretty sure the next RE - Revelations, 7 or whatever - will have at least one ship, but it's highly unlikely that it will be the only or main location once again.

I wouldn't say RE6 had Ship locations. they had Boat/Water locations, but not SHIPS. And I don't remember any in RE4 either...I remember using boats, and being on Islands where you're very close to water. But you're right about 5 and Revelations. Dead Aim too of course, but that happened YEARS ago so I wouldn't call it "Lately."
 
That location where the fourth chapters of the Nivanfield and Ada campaigns take place is a ship, and Ada's first chapter is set on a submarine, which is... well, an underwater ship. In the case of RE4, you could be right, I never finished it, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I heard there was a ship segment in Seperate Ways. (So maybe it's just Ada's fault?) If not, all the better.

As for "lately" and "not lately": Well, the latter would mean that Capcom always has a thing for ships, which makes it even worse... Get rid of those stupid ships and give me a scary forest.

I would like for this to be true but it probably isn't. For one, the 'Revelations 2' title does not sound good. If they did make a sequel, they would give it a different subtitle. Nearly everything we've heard recently about 'the next RE game' has just been rumours and nothing more, I don't expect this to be any different.

If it were true, I wouldn't mind. I liked Revelations much better than RE6 so if they kept going in Revelations' direction it would make me happy.

Fiar enough. I was only thinking of Jake/Chris/Leon. I like to forget that Ada's story existed, but you are right...
 
I don't want to be that guy.
But I thought the idea of being stranded adrift on a large CRUISE ship in the middle of the ocean was a great idea.
Very atmospheric and rickerty, and it was crucial to the story which is why the whole campaign (mostly) was set out on the ship.

Resident evil 6 had 1 chapter, on a sub. (Ada)
2 chapters on a carrier boat (Chris / Ada)
And 2 chapters in a weird underground base which happens to be underwater (jake / Chris)

If "revelations 2" did exist I very much doubt they would base it on a ship again, but I hope wherever the setting was is just as atmospheric.
