Resident Evil 6 Resident Evil 6 "Rushing?"

What do you guys think of the release date pushed to October 2? Even if they are working for it for about 2 years, I think its a bad thing, and probably expecting for an overpriced DLC (DiscLockedContent) like from games such as Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter x Tekken, when you need to buy the DLC for bonuses, continuation etc. That is Capcom's history, making a game that costs a 100 dollar a piece. Are you guys against DLC or okay with it?
Need your opinions.
"No to Disc Locked Content!!!!!!!!!!!! Spread it so Capcom won't rob us again!!!!!!"

I'll just get right to the ass kicking!
Like I said on this forum a few times and on the first trailer on the day it was released

"20% of the stuff we see in this trailer will be cut and resold as DLC"

I hate it when I'm right.

My opinion on DLC: I f**king hate it!! I miss the old days when you got in box expansion packs that you could return if you didnt like it.

Me too, I have thought about what Capcom did to RE5. I hope they won't screw up this time. I mean really, thinking about Mercenaries and continuation of storyline as DLC? smh

The DLC will prob just be a skin pack giving you all the classic skins like Sherry's school outfit, Ada's red dress, Leons RPD outfit and Chris's STARS outfit.

We will see in October.
But to be honest I'm more concerned about the quality of the game, than the possibility *cough* I mean certainty of DLC contents.

I mean even if they are working with 500 people on this game, 1.5 month is a lot of time, the developers could have used.
I'd really hate to see a laggy game with full of bugs. Or a horrible PC-port like they did for RE4, since I'm probably getting the PC version.

To answer your other question: No, I don't like DL C(-virus). Who likes to pay extra when, they should be unlocked on the disc already?

Good, I commented on the Captivate trailer telling people to spread the No Disk Located Content. So far so good.

One of the reasons I still like RE4, EVERYTHING was on the disc, there was no DLC at all, everything like: Separate Ways, Assignment Ada, Mercenaries, unlockable weapons, outfits etc was all on the disc, RE4 IMO was the best of the 3rd person RE games.

IF Resident Evil 6 has a side quest(like a Ada story for RE6) it will be sold as an over priced DLC while it is completely installed on the disc, I need to find those guys who hacked the Mass Effect 3 DLC and get their help.

Yeah, RE4 was one of the best. I'm gonna rebel to Cashcom now.

i don't think it's being rushed, just by being pushed forward 1 month.
it's probably finished now and all the final tweaks being made, so it being pushed 1 month is good news :D

for people like me? would you like to elaborate on that...
A lot of fans were hyped(like u), others were disappointed cuz Capcom might have "cut" the game and probably announce the "cut" parts to be a certain DLC = $. I think that they have pushed it to October so that It'll get more attention cuz a lot of big games are going to be released in Nov (AC:3, BLOPS 2, Bioshock, etc) and obviously Capcom wants the $$$$$ DLC= $$$$

lol i was hyped either way, it's only a month, not exactly like there pushing it a year. i can actually wait a month so it doesn't make a bit of difference to me, and since i'll be downloading it, i'll get it before the release date anyway so again whatever offical date they put out won't make a blind bit off difference to me.

I don't think that a month is that much of a big problem. If Capcom aimed for DLC, they aimed for it since the start, and since a developer himself stated that each storyline is a bit shorter than RE5's campaign, and that Mercenaries will be available from the start, I don't see how they can "cut content". We might get a 30 hour of campaign in total, and a few multiplayer options, and if Capcom releases some kind of more story DLC, people will grab their torches and pitchforks and march to Japan.

All in all, I ain't fond of Capcom's approach on DLC, but if what I stated above turns out true, and people still make a fuss and blah blah blah over it forever, I'll be on Capcom's side - just for that one, though.

I agree with iaintnoscrub.

A while back a friend and I were invited to a showing of Arriety like a month before it came out in theaters to the main public. I had recalled of hearing about similiar events in the past with other forms of entertainment. If movies and games are done months in advance why does it take so long for them to just release it? Like iaintnoscrub said it's probably already done. If they do DLC they would have done it regardless of what time they released it.

exactly, their plans for dlc have probably already been mapped out.
so what they actually include in the release package doesn't matter because it'll be extended at some point anyway.
